Barion Brown...

Barion never really got much better at WR, a position that requires adding upper body strength as u get older , and lots of personal film study.
It’s possible he was asked to move on because of work ethic or culture, etc ….or it’s possible he (and Key) always knew they’d become NIL free agents their last yr of college to line pockets , etc. Maybe that knowledge allowed their intensity to slip this yr

He was on TV a 2-3 times as the “game of the week” on a Nashville TV station. Pushing, shoving, running his mouth…

Great at returning kicks. Horrible at route running and catching.
Lazy and entitled. That’s why he sucks at route running and rarely creates space. Running clean routes is all discipline and want to. You can’t freelance it. Returning kicks is all freelance and athleticism and reading blocks. He either needs a system with a ton of discipline w a WR coach that won’t play you unless you run sharp routes…or he’d lowkey be a better 3rd down running back if he added 20lbs bc RB is all reading blocks and freelance and catching quick hitters out of the backfield…. He’d never be physical enough to pass block though. Basically he’s a tweener that needs to figure out crisp route running if he wants to be successful long term and stick in the nfl

To me, Barion was about equivalent to Lynn Bowden Jr as a receiver. He didn’t have the impact we all expected. He was great on special teams, but didn’t become a star till he was lining up at QB. He played QB in HS and actually converted to WR for college. Have to wonder what he could have done had he stayed at QB and Gran had been able to tailor three years of offense around him. His passing might have even improved over the course of that time.

He had the same attitude problems in high school. I’d rather stick with solid 3 stars than these 4-5 stars that are uncoachable. Stoops in particular doesn’t seem to be able to “convert” them and get the best out of them
IF this is true I agree with you. Unfortunately, based on the discipline of Stoops teams (horrible) he would have fit right in. He needs good coaching IMO.
