Barion Brown??

Imma be honest we are going lose a good number of players but with the transfer portal that’s not the end of the world. Some of these guys were part of terrible culture anyway. Kentucky is a sec school with money well wil be able to get good players to come here. Hell vandy did.
Vandy got a QB. QBs make all the difference. And as zBear Bryant said if you have 2 Qzb you don't have any

Brown needs to go, he's an elite athlete but a poor receiver and like many on this team, has a poor attitude. Just my IMO, but we need to reset the culture, I hate losing Maclin more than Brown because what Maclin said after the Louisville game is spot on. We need better leaders - across all fronts.
There's no denying that he can take kick-offs to the house, but his hands and route-running are poor. He has to do a lot of work to become a consistent receiver that can be counted on to make the routine, if not the tough, catches.

Having watched the receivers at the schools mentioned Brown would not be competing as he is. These other SEC teams wide outside are physical, aggressive, fight for the ball and frankly just bigger. Brown would have had to spend time in the weight room and with the dieticians.

This. People used to jump me on here when i pointed this out all the way back to his sophomore year. His freshman year it was understandable to be raw but not after. He literally never improved, dropped tons of passes, and no doubt was an nil diva including the stupid touch count that ruined last season.

If he wants to stay for free, sure. Otherwise he cant leave town fast enough imo.

He still has to catch the damn ball.
With the right coach who will hold him to a standard that should be required he would be a great WR! It takes time-effort and can be taxing to hold guys accountable. But that's required for a 9mil guy. It doesn't stop at brown. Stoops appeared "satisfied" "unmotivated" doesn't have the fire that's needed to compete at a high level.

His players followed suit as well. That's my opinion of why he has had a 4 year slide. I'm sure it's a very demanding life, if he can't deliver that he needs to step aside!

You can't teach good hands. You can teach techniques which may help some but bad hands are bad hands.

Stoops encourages trash talk and dirty play

You know I think he may have in the beginning. He wanted to build confidence and an us against the world attitude and thought that would help create swagger. But as UK players got better, he just decided to let it be a characteristic of UK football. I don't think it's trashy, just a way kids today display confidene because UK certainly doesn't have a monopoly on trash talking.

Not talking about BB, but about 95% of all WR. All the trash talking is a side effect of the targeting rule. You may not be old enough to member guys like Jack Tatum or Ronnie Lott, but no WR ever got in their face talking trash about a catch. WR have no fear anymore, if they are hit too hard the defender is flagged.
That is a great point and one I never thought of-- but you are 100% correct. I think the rule is absurd and used too often. If a defensive player is lowering the helmet and hitting a defenseless offensive player with intent to harm ( and you can tell)- then they should be flagged and/or thrown out of the game. so many times though it is just a football play, and that player is penalized.

Barion has been a bit of a disappointment. Not in the return game, but in his over all catch passing ability. I know he is built for speed and not power but he seemed to have not improved in his physical development at all and went down so easily when a defender hit him.

He's one of those guys who'll test well at the combine and get drafted too early, a la Kadarius Toney. Although there's no chance Brown is a first-rounder.

I hope he goes into the NFL instead of transferring. If he ends up in Knoxville he'll undoubtedly drop 150 yards on us next season.
I would saythe chances of him wearing orange next year is zero. Orange did not recruit him very much in HS because of his attitude. I was told this by a TN fan who is well connected. They did really want one of the Wade twins but not the one wanting to be a QB.
