Bad feeling about Poythress injury and Hawk...

Well you know my theory...no way in hell Poy plays against Georgia...Cal will think (and rightfully so) that we can beat Georgia without him and no way in hell our training staff will have him ready in 3 days!!!! DOM STILL NOT RIGHT 6 WEEKS LATER
Well Cal is right sooooo...

Cal said yesterday that he noticed Hawkins rolling his ankle around and asked him if he was good to go. Hawkins did not answer to Cal's satisfaction so he kept him on the bench. He didn't want to rush him and risk further injury.

Poythress told a trainer that his knee was bothering him. The trainer then told Cal. All this happened right around game time.

Not much there to even discuss, let alone come up with a conspiracy theory or question the credentials of the UK training staff.

After the game in which Hawk got hurt...Cal on postgame said and i quote..."they tell me its nothing serious" ...6 weeks later..still not right

I didn't trash our trainers. Ignore means ignore. But, please, continue. You're going further down the rabbit hole of utter adolescence once again. It really is funny to watch.

Sure you did. Then you tried to cover it up. I don't have a lot of time for guys that trash our teams support staff and place one player above the rest of the team after a humiliating loss. Ignore allows me to deal with them when I choose. But, you didn't know that. That's a common trend for you.

See, there you go again. No knowledge what so ever. Yet you bash the training staff on a Kentucky board. Then you whine about getting called out on it.

We don't know if they told him it's nothing serious or if they told him there's not much swelling and he interpreted that as nothing serious. You generally don't get as much swelling with a high ankle sprain, so they can look much better than normal ankle sprains, despite causing more pain. I also don't think they confirmed it was a high ankle sprain until they had a chance to examine it outside of the arena.

For some people though, the recovery for a high ankle sprain is measured in months not weeks. It just depends on the severity of sprain and how the person's body heals. You can take two different people, give them the same injury, subject them to identical therapy and one will be healed faster than the other. It's just the way it works.

This is a very bizarre thing for someone to complain about.

You've got serious issues. It's pretty bad when one of your buddies on the forum call you a juvenile azzwipe and then you like the post. Pretty much says everything. Yep, there goes the superiority angle of yours again. You're the nly one one who understands the highly complex ignore button. Just how big a legend are you in your own mind? I'm also curious, why would it matter to you if I were a homophobe? I'm not but you have an odd fascination with that. Are there some latent tendencies you need to explore? Back to basketball. The team can lose but an individual player can play well. You do understand that absurdly simple situation, don't you? Well, actually, from your posts I'd have to say you don't understand that. Please continue. Every post you make is just more fodder.

Let's see. You don't know what a fanboi is. You don't understand the basics of sports medicine and diagnosis. You think an individual player is more important than the team. You don't understand basic board functions. You don't understand that if the team loses, the individual performance is rather irrelevant. Then your major come back is to insinuate that I'm gay. You are just wrong at every turn. In short, you lose.

I think you are right on one point. I agree that I've demonstrated superiority over you. But then about every one on the board can say that about you.

Let's take your ignorant post line by line.

1. Yes I do. I still think it is a juvenile statement. What grown man actually calls other grown men, fanbois.
2. How so? First, are you a sports Doctor? We all know you aren't because you clearly aren't smart enough. I never said anything against our training staff. Either admit you are once again lying or post the quote from me that supports your absurd statement.
3. No single player is above the team. You are lying, yet again. Support your statement or just admit you're a desperate liar.
4. You are a fool if you think individual performances don't matter when the team loses. That's one of the most idiotic things I've ever seen posted here and that is saying a lot.
5. I'm not trying to win, I'm trying to get you to hang yourself. It's going pretty well at this point.

Pretty weak. I don't have to support my statements. Your own posts do that quite well.

For example, you admit you are baiting with number 5 there. And since you didn't whine about insinuating I'm gay (I'm not) I think we can agree you admit that too. That's just from one post. So I don't really have time for more of your personal attacks as I'm rather busy today. We'll put you back on ignore. You'll continue with your little temper tantrum. I'll laugh at you.

I'm quite proud of our trainers by the way. They are among the best available. You and UMM are shameful for stating otherwise.

So what you're really saying is your butt can't cash the checks your mouth is writing. BONUS, we all knew that already.

Thank you. I think we've proven beyond debate that you do bully. Repeatedly. And you admitted it above.

As for the rest . . . LOL!
Whatever you think. Still waiting on you to support your statements. Darn, I forgot, you're a liar who can't support anything.

Hawkins is not right from an ankle sprain 6 weeks ago and we have had 2 players get scratched at game time...the training staff has every right to be questioned..Cal gets notified 5 mins before game time??? Really

Your total lack of knowledge of sports injuries and recovery time is absolute proof of your basketball idiocy.

Why do you come across as some expert yet spew this pathetic ineptness?

Still cant figure out if you are this dumb or just enjoy the title of worst poster...?

I don't necessarily think we need to blame the training staff for the last minute stuff they are dealing with competitive young men. I'm sure Poy was told to test it and see if he could go and he didn't make up his mind til right before tip, or most likely they knew way before and Cal know better to let info out like that so an opposing coach has time to prepare for it. Same with Hawk u don't want the same competition to be sure about anything its called coaching

x-Ray instead of MRI is interesting.

We need Poy though. Sure he is inconsistent, but all of our bigs are, so we need them all since from game 2 game you don't know who will bring it. We only have 2 (Poy and Hump) that can bring any physical play. And Poy is our best defender of that group.

And of course we just want the best for AP.

I understand it all...i played sports all my life until mid 20s....i know all about injuries and healing and all that crap...im tellin ya i have never ever heard of a guy being out 6 weeks with sprained ankle...unheard of

Then you don't know as much as you think you do and/or don't pay attention very well. At least among NFL players that have had the same injury, 22% took 6 weeks or longer to return.

Hawkins has been hurt for 5 weeks, plus he re-injured it three weeks into his recovery. The fact that he is still out should be a surprise to no one.

How is it the trainers fault when a player gets injured during pre game warm ups? Are they supposed to put the players in bubbles or something?

I played a LOT of basketball from my early teens until my late 30's, and I've had ankle sprains, and I've had high ankle sprains.

With the high sprains, I've been out for a month, then again I've been out for close to two months, so you can never set a definite time frame for a return for anyone. It varies not just from person to person, but from injury to injury.

To even suggest the top program in the country wouldn't have top flight trainers is ludicrous, IMO.

Agree to disagree...personal attacks unwarranted and not needed

Ok, you asked for this.

What's your differential diagnosis for Hawkins' ankle and what specific factors did you consider when arriving at that diagnosis. Also, we'd like to see the imaging upon which which you are basing your specific diagnosis and position that the trainers have not followed standard of care for Hawkins ankle. Lastly, what do you see as the standard of care relative to injuries of this type and specifically where have UK's training and medical staff handled the patient's ankle improperly. I'm sure Hawkins will forgive any HIPAA transgressions if you can get him back on the court.

So, give us your professonal assessment. Else you are just pulling this stuff out of your ass and now all can see just that. You offend hardworking and professional medical staff and trainers. You insult the university to suggest that they would give their athletes, not to mention a basketball player, any less than the best of care.

I can answer for you. You know nothing. You are an embarrassment.
