Bad feeling about Poythress injury and Hawk...

Well you know my theory...no way in hell Poy plays against Georgia...Cal will think (and rightfully so) that we can beat Georgia without him and no way in hell our training staff will have him ready in 3 days!!!! DOM STILL NOT RIGHT 6 WEEKS LATER

Dom has a high ankle sprain and sometimes those just take a while to get better but as for Alex, I would always be worried when it comes to a knee. Here is hoping Alex is okay

Define take a while??? 6 weeks is a bit much
Didn't he re-aggravate it? If it's severe enough, it can be bad. I think your hammering of he should be back by now is somewhat over the top. Don't you think if he was ready to go, he would?

If it was too serious they wouldn't be waiting until tomorrow to x-ray it. Would have happened yesterday.

I would say that the testing is simply precautionary, to rule out a bad injury, and to see what therapy will be required to get him back on the floor.

I would be more concerned if they went on and did an x-ray right away. Unless they were waiting for the swelling to go down but I would think if it was that bad he wouldn't of been on the bench. I'm not sure what to think of Hawkins. Cal, historically, hasn't been extremely honest when it comes to injuries so it might be worst than what is being lead to believe.

These things can blessings in disguise....we looked pretty darn good without him yesterday....close to as well as we've played all season

His absence got more PT for Izak which will bear much fruit come March

That's more because we went 12-20 from beyond the arc. Don't fool yourself. If this team is going to go anywhere, they need Poy. It would be great if Humphries can be relied on more but I wouldn't write off Alex based on 1 game.

I am looking at it as a positive. Alex has been too inconsistent over his career to cause much concern. We have actually played just as well or maybe better in some games without him. If he came out every night with 12 points and 8 rebounds (give or take a few) we may have a reason to be concerned. But we can win without him and we have a man on the bench who is young and needs some playing time. We all know who that is. So good luck to him, sure hope it is only a minor bruise and let's get ready for the next opponent.

And id be more concerned if they call for an MRI, the kneecap is about the only thing an xray would show and if his knee cap was fractured or something then id imagine he would be in alot more pain.

They are not one of the best...kybass get off me..you know the rule...just pass me by
He ought to pass by everyone for a while after his humiliation in the Willis fanboi debacle. He enjoys pretending to be superior far too much.

Yes, they are among the best. Only a fool would think differently.

Man, you really are ignorant about these matters and you start crying when someone calls you on it. You post negatives on a Kentucky board and whine when Kentucky fans point that out. I know the rule, you bash the cats and trash our trainers and I'm going to point it out every time.

Cry, now, baby.

Ah, so you like posts that trash the cats. Guess all you fanboi's have to stick together.
Another lie from kybassfan. Thought I was on ignore. You are so predictable. Doubling down is hilarious. You do realize you were the one who looked stupid and childish in that thread, and you start it again. You're almost as fun as reading the UL boards. Please continue for all our enjoyment.

Hawkins is not right from an ankle sprain 6 weeks ago and we have had 2 players get scratched at game time...the training staff has every right to be questioned..Cal gets notified 5 mins before game time??? Really

So you are advocating playing injured players with no medical evidence to the contrary. LIke I said, totally ignorant, like usual.

Coming from the homophobe that thought fanboi was a gay reference. I put you on ignore because you were a homophobe. Clearly you don't know how ignore works.

And it make sense you come to UMM's rescue. You are ignorant as to how ignore works just has he is ignorant about sports medicine. Birds of a feather.

Good luck with your fellow fanboi in bashing our trainers. Pathetic.

The general rule on high ankle sprains is 4-6 weeks so some clearly take longer and he did tweak it a couple of weeks ago. Totally surprising Cal 5 minutes before the game seems odd. The njury happened during the week. Perhaps he tweaked it right before the game and that's just life.

I didn't trash our trainers. Ignore means ignore. But, please, continue. You're going further down the rabbit hole of utter adolescence once again. It really is funny to watch.

Kybass i am not playing your game...ladt time i did it cost me a week on the bench...im out

UK needed Poythress to make the 2014 run that they had. He also adds tournament experience and leadership to the team. So yea, we need Poythress healthy.

Whether you're right or wrong, allowing the bully to run you out of a thread is the wrong approach. He'll just continue to act that way. You can put him in his childish place and stay within the rules.

Alex tweaked his knee in pre-game warm-ups. Not sure when Cal was suppose to be notified, certainly not before he injured it. Hawkins could have been a game time decision. Neither of those had anything to do with whether a training staff is good or not.

High ankle sprains can take a long time to heal, especially if you re-tweak it like Hawkins did. Are you questioning the training staff because of injury, or the time it's taking to get healed?
