You can't be that bad Petjurino. War Eagle maybe. Only their battle cry and fight sing.

Okay, well that would make sense as to why they would have Eagle on the sign but why would they sing War Eagle if they are Tigers?

Anyone have a picture of that bird after he takes those chompers out for the night?

Sometimes he takes them out early, like before the game starts.

Classless. You won't see anything like that here in The Ville. BTW, what does an Eagle have to do with this. Aren't they the Tigers?

CLASSLESS???? From a UL fan that employs the daily double of classless in their two revenue sports???? This is CLASSIC! It's widely understood that UL is a "just win, baby" school, but I'm shocked that one of you would cast a moral judgment on another school. LOL.

Make that three, they are also known as the Plainsmen.

I can still remember John Ferguson from the old SEC BB network doing game from Auburn one Saturday. He did player intro's simultaneously over TV and arena system. As he introduced Auburn he said "and now for the Auburn Tigers, War Eagles, Plainsmen, what have you...". What a turkey![roll]

Don't we have any artist on this board... Man I would like to see that red bird taking his teeth out and putting them up for the night.....

if serious...all credibility has been lost. as a dirty bird fan there wasnt much to begin with.

He just called you a moron.
Because I asked why they refer to an Eagle when they are the Tigers? Wow, put me in the insane asylum. It sounds like Auburn people are the morons.[/QUOTE]
Quick question for our line-bearded one. When exactly did you start following college football and did you know it existed outside of C-USA or the Big East before last season?

I've been a college football fan for quite some time but I will admit that I typically only watch when UofL is playing.

I would assume that my wife would not know that Auburn = War Eagle, but it is surprising to learn a college football message board poster east of the Rockies did not know.

Godfather, I use to think he was just playing a dumb fool.....he ain't playing at all !

Funny ... I saw that Krystal sign and didn't even wonder about the use of "Eagle". I knew it was referring to Auburn. ... but it wasn't until this thread that I thought about the question "why are they called 'War Eagle' when their mascot is a 'Tiger'".

I was 10 years old the last and only time that Louisville last played Auburn in football, so I can't say they've been a high priority when it came to my college football trivia research!
Thank you PushupMan, you proved my point.

Auburn has been Tigers for a very, very long time. War Eagles has always been their battle cry. Far as Plainman- Auburn is known as The loveliest Village on The Plains. Not hard to understand if you know college football unless you are some Johnny-Come-Lately band wagon fan!

You would be talking to 90% of otis's fan base that only go to the games to get drunk and yell obsene stuff at opposing fan bases... See Petjurino and you will see the knowledge of the typical Otis fan:cool2::sunglasses::smiley:
