Malkom Parrish, Brooks County's standout quarterback and defensive back, has been invited to play in next year's U.S. Army All-American Bowl.
The All-American Bowl features 90 of the top high school football players in the nation playing in an all-star game at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas. Next year's game will be held on Jan. 4, 2014 and will be broadcast on NBC.
Parrish will be a fourth-year starter at quarterback for Brooks County this fall. Last year, he passed for 3,001 yards and 24 touchdowns and ran for 1,000 yards and 17 touchdowns for the Trojans.
He led Brooks to its first-ever undefeated regular season and the Region 1-AA championship. The Trojans went 12-1. In Parrish's three years as Brooks' quarterback, the Trojans have a 28-10 record, including a 21-4 record the last two years.
Parrish also starts in the secondary for Brooks, and that could be where his college future lies. Georgia Tech, which runs an option offense, wants him to play quarterback, but most of the teams recruiting him are reportedly interested in him as a defensive back.
Parrish is currently ranked the No. 8 athlete in the 2014 recruiting class by ESPN, the No. 29 cornerback by scout.com and the No. 38 cornerback by rivals.com.
He already has scholarship offers from Georgia, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, Missouri, North Carolina and Tennessee, and will likely receive a number of other offers in the future....cont
