At what point do we really start thinking that Duke is in deep trouble?

Sorry if I am not shaking in my boots about a kid beating us who went 6-15 from the field for 18 points against Maine. Did he have a bad game because it's his first collegiate game? Yeah probably but who is to say that he won't have a bad game against us since it's his first collegiate game against a big name opponent. I would think we, of all fan bases, would know how freshmen can play in those games. Some of you guys act like he is the 2nd coming of Jordan and Duke is unbeatable. Calipari has really done a number on some of you.

Our strength will be consistency and execution due to our experience, specific skill sets, balance and coaching. Teams like Duke and Arkansas haven size and athleticism but will be less consistent and prone to lapses in execution and level of play. Just like it was with us under Cal. It will be interesting to see how these games play out.

UK had 6 different players with at least 3 assts apiece last night and of those 6 three had 5 assists.

This team is locked in already in early Nov.

Duke is in trouble.
Duke beat there marsh mellow last night by about the same margin we did. this one will go to the wire and we need to be at our best to win.

And how idiotic and hateful the preseason progs are having rated this team #23 or not at all.

We cherry picked about 10 good to very good upperclassmen, that can play immediately! When does that not count for squat?

Get with the times pollsters!

Kentucky basketball has!

We bout to see!!

Pre season Polls were and are meaningless. Get that through your head pops. If UK goes 11 and 1 ooc they will be top 5 going into sec play. That again is meaningless.

All that matters are ncaa tournament seed projections and actual rankings.

I'm with you. Flagg schmagg. I've heard enough about this guy for a lifetime.
If this board doesn't lay off, his ass will be chapped from all the smooches.

I think Duke will be in trouble with 4 minutes left in the game and they are down 8-10 points. I think this team will close the coffin if Duke shows any signs of slowing down. We won’t call the dogs off either, not this coach!
I started getting emotional reading this Yard but Im at work so I composed myself.
Its been a while man. Im sky high!
Cant wait!

UK is avg. 30 assists to 6 turnovers in their 2 ex and 1st real game.

Thats like 90 dimes to 18 pennies.
Its freakin unheard of ok?

All this focus on cooper is warranted, dude fills the box score and moves very well for someone his size.

But, to beat Duke, UK going to have to lock down their other guy, Kon knipple. Kid can flat out play, shoot and hustles every play. Double O going to have to focus hard on keeping that kid from getting his shots off.

Slow down Kon and keep Duke off the boards, they get a lot of open threes off the offensive glass and has the dudes to hit them. And I think UK has a great chance even if cooper goes off.

I think the difference will be Duke’s veteran bench. UK has a good looking team. Looking forward to the matchup.

Well, UK has a veteran bench too or did you already know that?
UK has a veteran team period. But i think Duke’s talent, especially 1-5, is better but they are young and that is where the bench comes in, who can help the youngins settle in. In other words, if Duke was young throughout, even with the talent difference in the starting 5, I would like UK in this one due to the experience UK has (also talented), but because of the experience with Gillis, James, and Brown, I think they help and complement the younsters, settle them
down and allow them to just play.

Aside from the accountant last year, usually one guy doesn't beat an entire team.

I like our chances of either sneaking out of there with a hard fought, close win thanks to Butler and Williams's defense. If we are able to get to the rim AND hit threes, Duke will have a rough time. Let Flagg get his if he has the ball, but deny, deny, deny when he doesn't, because most likely they'll just try to feed him the ball all game long while hopefully launching a bunch of missed threes.

I didn't watch the Puke game last night, so no idea what they even look like.

My ONLY concern - we haven't been challenged much in these first few games, and likely won't on Saturday. What will this team do when they are in a dog fight (sorry, not meaning to use a Cal-ism) with a team that takes a lead. Will our vast experience result in patience and not panic? I'd rather not see, but we have to assume that the game will be back and forth and maybe even "uh oh" behind with a need to play catch up all game long. Do we panic and start launching threes? Will be interesting to see unfold, and I think it will tell us a LOT about this team moving forward.
Fortunately we have guys who can shoot us back into games. And as we kinda saw in the second exhibition game, We have enough shooters that when some are having an off night, there's enough of them that somebody will step up and drain a bunch like Robinson did. I Just hope on those nights that it's not Perry or Noah who is "on" and we find that out in the last 5 minutes when we're down by 20, LOL.

It will be a classic as Duke/Kentucky usually is. It will tell alot about both teams, as I think ultimately these are going to be two top 10 if not top 5 squad.

I mean this UK team avg margin of victory is like 45 points a game. If we do the same to Bucknell I think you gotta figure Duke is in trouble v Kentucky next Tuesday night in Catlanta.
This team plays with a chip on their collective big blue shoulders!
I love Ky, but, just quit.

If I'm not mistaken,

Duke is starting 3 freshmen. We're starting 4 seniors and a junior.

We always lose the Champion's classic because we're the youngest team and make more mistakes. For we're the old, experienced team.

I think Flagg probably has a nice game. But in crunch time, I think/hope we execuse better and they make more mistakes.

Robinson has to be the man vs duke, like we need him to ball out I believe and the rest of our guys can play off him. Double O is going to be a dog defensively along with Butler, just hope those guys can continue to knock down some 3s & of course keeping duke off the offensive glass. Williams need to stay out of foul trouble as well could be the biggest key to the game.
Oweh is 6'5" and will probably guard Flagg some. Trying to pester him out top. Carr or Williams will get him most of the time.

Predict the number of made 3s that will reign down on the Pukies?
10? 15? More?

I wouldn't go off just margin of victory...Duke's having those large sums too thus far, including on a power conference school in an exhibition
