At least he didn't get a lifetime contract.

If Williams is handling the ball all the time, the that takes him away from being able to score & get offensive rebounds
without a point guard, basically playing 4 on 5. Perry, Noah & Chandler do not have the quickness to guard anyone, as demonstrated again last night, and Ole Miss doesn't have any highly recruited kids

I will agree butler is a huge loss, but can we all please stop acting like Kerr Krisa is some game changing loss people. He isn’t, I keep seeing people say we lost 2 PGs, while true, only one of them is a loss. Krisa isn’t some game changing player, he was just as bad defensively as Perry was, he made extra passes.
Kerr would still have kept the team afloat, I don’t think you realize how large a loss a PG is to a team. He led a number one Zona team so we would have been fine,. You have been a little over the top with your doom and gloom lately my friend. Krissa is so much further along than Perry it’s not even funny.

Be careful man, people want sunshine pump and rainbows.
No we don’t, if you can’t see the season went downhill because of injuries I don’t know what to tell you. The evidence is there. We have more quad 1 wins that an entire major conference. Yeah we have issues that need fixing but you haven’t been fair at all to the reality of our situation. Everyone on here wants things fixed and to win. Hopefully we can but as it stands we are very limited in what we can do right now.

I’m not saying Pope needs to go. But what I am saying is their is reason to believe no matter how good of players he has/how long he has to put a team together, he might not have what it takes to teach a good defensive scheme and that’s not gonna cut it here. Cals last few years the defense wasn’t good but the first 10 years he had several really good defenses. There are several teams right now that have no business being a better defense that is according to kenpom. Lipscomb, st bonaventure, just to name a couple.

You’re one of the few who is reasonable. Butler being out is huge I agree. But thsi defense and effort recently are sad

Having Kerr would definitely be a plus.
I thought he was a future pro as a soph at Zona but his game seems to have plateaued.
I haven't been impressed with his limited body of work in a UK uniform but he is ahead of Perry and would give the team.more depth.

The excuse of only having a month to get a roster went out the window after they beat Duke and Gonzaga. If they’re that good then there’s ZERO excuse for a handful of these losses. You can’t have it both ways.
We had a full roster then. No injuries.

Pope will be owed 75% of whatever is remaining of his contract if we were to fire him before it expires. And then you have to pay a new coach enough to make this opportunity more appealing than wherever they are currently which means also promising him a ridiculous buyout. it seems to me a waste of time debating it at this stage because it will be a while before we can even consider firing him.

So you went to bed and woke up with this nonsense again? What are trying to resolve? What is the anticipated outcome of the doom and gloom rhetoric you are espousing? What do you hope to achieve? You aren’t going to convince people that watched Pope lead the team, when healthy, to so many unlikely victories that he is a terrible coach. You’re yelling with a megaphone about something that is empirically false.

Butler is 1000 percent hurt, I don’t think he is being weak by sitting out at all
That was my whole point about effort and defense I think he was giving 100% for what he could do if you know what I mean. I mean if your shoulder and ankle are messed up it is probably best he doesn't play but he knew he had to try because we have 0 options left at his position.

You and 2 others have been arguing me with nonstop about something because it’s not the POV you have, so no I’m not yelling at nobody. Yalls definition of doom and gloom is way different than a lot of others. Nobody is discrediting his wins, but to sit here and act like pope has been good the past 2 weeks is silly, and to also act like butler is some kind of savior is crazy. He helps but he ain’t fixing this team

Poor is a very good, and respected coach. He is dealing w personnel issues. Cmon- give him a bit of time. You’ll be more than fine.

There is some blame that is fair with Pope here…but yeah, I think you have went overboard. And again, I’m not sure what you are expecting. Suppose everyone on the board agrees with you…..then what?

He is an experience back up that has major college experience.

I like Pope being humble, Cal never was that way, but saying that he needs to lite a fire under the team butt keeping them in the gym till they get the D right.

He would give us someone who can run the team 30 minutes a game. That’s huge.

All I care about is that they give effort, that this staff makes sure the team is fundamentally sound. Neither is really happening. There are spurts where they give effort, but that is not acceptable. I know that there isn't much talent on the roster.

No it doesn't. Amari had what, TEN assists? The team KNOWS how the offense Pope put in place works, for whatever reason they're not putting forth the effort to make it work. I'm wondering if some of these guys know they don't have much of a future in basketball.
We need guys that can get down hill. We have one guy and one guy is easy to stop. We need two on the floor at all times and without Butler its just not there. If we're drilling 3s we can win but when your going
up against the athletesism of the SEC they're making it hard for our spot up shooters (which is all we have) to get open. If we had penittrating guards the 3's would be falling at a better clip and more consistent. Getting Butler back is paramount. Pope has his hands full.

You just told everyone how little you know about the sport of basketball by this post, I'd be embaressed.
