Who from this team will be around next year? Skal is going to be the second pick regardless I feel. Probably lack. Of motivation to put it all on the line bc he knows it too.
Briscoe? Maybe but Harrison's stayed two years and he has lots of work to do. Could be gone regardless who knows
Murray? I don't know if he hits potential and puts team on his back he's gone. I feel he's gone regardless but would be nice to have him 2 years
Lee? iDK his grad status but if he's close maybe he stays. Maybe he stays regardless. Right now I say gone
Poythress? I don't see him back. I don't think he goes very high in draft and who knows
Ulis? As of now I feel he will be back. I just don't see six guys leaving for the pros from this team and Ulis is the one who would stay bc he may be an all time great NCAA pt guard and player. NBA potential being iffy.

Willis
Matthews
Humphries of course
All stay in terms of pro potential but I guess wilis could pull a Towels. I don't think so but who knows

Honestly I think it's quite likely all 6 of those are gone. Lee and Briscoe are playing better than I expected. Ulis & Murray are doing great aside from their actual shooting but I think that'll improve. Poy is a senior and has already graduated. And Skal, well.....honestly at this point he may be the MOST likely to return. If he keeps putting up "0, 0, fouled out" lines he won't be drafted #2. I don't care how much potential he has.

But we have a ludicrous class coming in so worst case, if everyone leaves, we'll still look pretty nasty.

Skal is not guaranteed the #2 spot. Keep in mind Chad Ford has Poythress going #1 on a mock draft (probably one that he edited).

A couple other points:

Not sure Tyler cares about being an all-time college great, doesnt make you any money.

Towles left because he has NFL aspirations and has been predicted to be a draft pick. Willis has had zero looks from scouts, he knows the value of a KY boy sticking around.

All 6 are gone and Skal will be the at worst the 3rd or 4th pick as he will show out before this season is done as he is too much of a beast not to. Our team next year is going to be SICK.
Fox/Simmons ( i think we add him ) Hawkins
Monk/Matthews/Mulder
gabriel/Willis
SKJ/Tai
Bam/Wynyard

You burying Humphries on the bench Cane while cloning Tai? I'd suggest cloning Fox, Monk or Bam before him..

Usually since Cal has been here we have had a year of mass exodus followed by a year or two in one case of some players staying most people do not think.

2010: Wall, Cousins, Patterson, Bledsoe, Orton leave.
2011: We get TJ back (he would have been a top 20 pick) and Lamb back as well.
2012: Lose AD, TJ, Lamb, Teague, and MKG.
2013: We get WCS and Poy back.
2014: We get Twins, WCS, DJ, Poy back.
2015: We lose Twins, WCS, DJ, Towns, Booker, Lyles.
2016: ???? I agree, it appears those 6 guys will leave, but then again one or two might return that we think are gone.

It's december, these players are all goung to look totally different in March. Murray is 100% gone, he didn't skip a year of HS to play 2 years at UK.
Poythress, unless someone can tell me he applied for, and received a medical redshirt for last year than he has to be gone, he's a senior but I think he's gone if he stays healthy.
I fully expect Skal to eventually get it. Remember, all it takes is a dominant effort in a couple of March Madness games to convince NBA execs that you're good enough.
Briscoe is a wildcard, it just depends on how much he improves. I'd love to see him stay another year.
Lee is trying to make the most out of his playing time. I bet he goes.
Ulis, well, I guess it depends on how this team does. He's going to need to make more noise than he's making right now. If he was 6' he'd be a lock to go but I think he will need to make a bigger splash by the end of the season to get NBA teams to notice him. I would love to see him come back though.

I dont think you actually apply for redshirt until eligibility expires. You can inquire regarding eligibility at any time.
