As much as I enjoyed this season….

Damn straight it’s an amazing job by Mark Pope
The best thing that can happen for us is the return of Oweh, Garrison and the 3 Freshmen.
Yes ... an absolutely amazing job by Mark Pope ! ! ! Hear, Hear ! !
I think the best thing that can happen for us is the return of Oweh and the 3 Freshmen. Just MHO, of course.

If you factor in the time he had to make the roster, Injuries, what we have been through the past 4 years with Cal, the huge wins we had in the regular season and a S16 appearance, It's been a great year.

Have to continue to build and can't lose a few more in the conference but the future is promising.

“Amazing”

12 losses
6th place SEC finish
One win in the SECT
Blown out in the Sweet 16

If that was Duke or KU or UNC or UConn we would be making fun of them.

Pope did a good job but I guess UK fans’ standards have plummeted if this season is considered “amazing”.

Expectations rise next year.

Amazing? That’s a little much
We had a bunch of riff raff left overs and beat 2 1 seeds, a 2 seed twice, UofL, and a good showing in the best conference maybe of all time. With unbelievably bad luck w/ injuries. Yeah, amazing when you consider zero roster and a late start on the portal.

Disappointing end but I just wanted 1 win in the SECT and NCAAT for this season to feel good, doubling up Cal's post season win total I think since 2019. We did better than that.

These guys overperformed substantially their talent level, IMO, and a bad start got in their heads and took them out of the game, it happens. It's hard to beat a good team 3 times in a row.

Year 1 is amazing without doubt

Great season and a fun ride. We beat Duke and Louisville. Love Pope love the players and would have been fun to see us at full strength. We beat some dam good teams. Let’s hit the portal and see who Pope and the staff can land and get ready for next season, make a run for #9.

Pope squeezed every ounce of ability out of this roster. Lost his most talented scorer and still made the Sweet 16. With a point guard playing with one arm. Not a single player on this roster is guaranteed to make the NBA. Think about that for a second.

But that’s college basketball.

Michigan State has probably one guy that will ever have more than a cup of coffee in the NBA and he’s a freshman and was on the bench for much of the season until he came in the last month and a half.

The Spartans didn't play Tennessee. Ole Miss played a great game but I think UT would have beat a lot of teams tonight.

How many NBA players does Ole Miss have? One maybe. How many does Tennessee have? College Basketball is filled with teams every season that have low low NBA talent levels that succeed. That’s the point I’m trying to make: talent doesn’t guarantee success but it helps and a lot of teams don’t have monopolies on talent that are successful.

Rick Barnes had a generational talent in Kevin Durant, dropped 30 and 9 in his last game in college, and failed to get to the Sweet 16.

The fact is this team didn’t have uber talent so they were just a good college team and the margin of error is much much smaller for teams like that. So it comes down to things like coaching or effort or matchups. This game was a failure of all three imho.

Some of you just sit and wait for something negative to say. How happy your lives must be. One of my favorite teams from my lifetime.
Hated to see it end like that for these guys that came here no knowing what to expect and seemed to actually care about the name on the front.

Only good thing is if this was Cal I would just feel doomed for the next season. With Pope I truly do have hope. Losing Jrob for the year and Butlers shoulder were a lot to overcome. We had a bad night, but I'm excited for next year for the first time in awhile.

Let's see what Pope can do with a full off season after a season under his belt and players knowing what he's about.

Some truth to that, but Michigan State’s guys have played together multiple seasons. We didn’t have a roster 365 days ago.
