As I Posted Earlier This Month, With Murray We Are Pre-Season #1

It doesn't matter really where we are ranked to start the year. We know we have the talent to win it all. People talking about being number 1 adding so much stress for our young guys. I don't think these kids care much about pressure. They all did decide to play ball at Kentucky. They know what they're in for. At the end of the day, i'll take our talent and see what happens.

With the addition of Murray, UK is definitely a top 10 team, possibly top 5. I don't like pre-season rankings, but on paper UK has one of the most talented teams in the country.

Well Mulder hasn't been yet. And for Alex, it will have been two years by the time the tourney comes around again. And whether we realize it, Ulis and Lee were not in the game at crunch time in our last game so there is reason to say, a lot of great talent, just not as much experience.
Yeah, you're right, Ulis was not in the game at crunch time….. And look what happened. I will never doubt what that kid can do and I bet he is a better player now because of what he experienced in March/April 2015.

Yeah hindsight is always 20-20 but they were talking about having a lot of experience coming back, I just disagreed.

Started top 5 will be great, not concerned about being #1 as I feel that will be in flux the entire season.

Hope we drop one early and then have this team get red hot at the right time.

Hell I could care less if we don't win the reg season but rip apart the sec tourney and skull fk the tourney.

Man did last year change my whole outlook on sports.

Well we have more experience than we normally have so I like our chances.
As for the hindsight being 20/20 comment, that has nothing to do with what we are talking about.
Fact is Ulis is going to be a sophomore who got a boatload of experience his freshman season.
Fact, Ulis is s bulldog.
Fact, Ulis was not in the game at crunchtime against Wisconsin.
Fact, our guards choked it away in crunchtime against Wisconsin by playing passive
So it has nothing to do with hindsight, it has everything to do with what the facts are.

So we have more experience now then we did last year? And Ulis not being in the game didn't help his experience. That was my point I wish him and Lee had gotten those game on the line minutes. The hindsight comment came when you said as what happened when Ulis didn't play which is why I said its hindsight is 20-20, is that better?

I never did understand the thinking that it's better to be #5 than #1.... Why would anyone want to be anything besides #1.... I think it's a scared way of thinking... UK isn't scared of any team... We might not win, but why not be #1 until someone proves you're not?

Let UNC handle the burden of being Preseason No. 1. Sometimes I feel that it's too much pressure on young players to perform. All that counts is the end of the season.
It scared us to death last year.. We had a lot of young guys... We was #1 all year and up until the final four... So, why would anyone want to be lower than #1... Does it ease the pain, in case you lose....?

I don't see UK at #1 over UNC or KU, and Maryland will be tossed in as well. The voters will value experience. This UK team will not have near the hype the 2013 team, and certainly not last year's team. Don't get me wrong, lock for pre-season top 4-5...but #1? I have my doubts. Who cares at being preseason #1 anyways...has not worked out for us the last two seasons.

Heck...with Bill Self KU is maybe one of the top 5 teams...not better than UK. Self players just do nonot improve much from year to year...#coldfacts
