That game last night was an example of how CBB officials can change an outcome/point margin of a game. With Bama up 16, you had the obligatory trailing team drives to the basket and throws up crap--gets bailed out by officials to send them to the FT line and let them score with the clock stopped-and then team who is ahead drives to the basket, gets bodied/hand checked/grabbed and you don't get a call. Now Alabama furthered the chaos by giving up that missed FT putback--if you watch any game at any level that leads to at least an 8-0 run for the team who is rewarded for the laziness of the team who doesn't give a damn to get the ball.
I laugh how awful DJ Wagner is when you make him play to his strong hand. He's terrible. Just terrible. This is a guy who needs to stay in CBB after this year and leave Calipari and go get coached up by some staff who can actually force him to live in the gym and develop a jumpshot that is consistent. Bama literally shaded him to his strong hand.
Of the Arkansas roster, I wish UK would've had Fland and Richmond. That's it. Thiero and his theatrics can stay in Cal's grasp and Daddy can suck the NIL $ out of Tyson and Walton families. He's a great athlete who has a lot of fake hustle moments tied into losing plays. He's lucky Shows had them to cover last night as he committed 15 fouls and only was called for 4.
Brilliantly put. I concur.
Arkansas actually proved me wrong, - not that they won against us - NO. but they are a dangerous team now, in the fact that they're actually playing nearer the true level that their talent would make you think, but the result was still the same - a LOSS when they played Bama'. Yes, they are certainly capable of beating a ranked team - and on the road. They did it to us. But will they win another one? In Bud Walton or on the road ? I doubt it....
They may win the "winnable" games on their schedule, but otherwise, they put everything into beating Kentucky like it was the seventies or eighties. Back then, if a coach beat Kentucky, it was a bell-weather event that even in the face of a bad season, they could point to "we beat Kentucky!" ... aaaaand the coach would keep his job... at least another year. FLASHBACK!
Cal hasn't got much more positives to say at this point. BUT. he beat Kentucky. And he can recruit. So I doubt seriously doubt he will lose his job after just one season.
I think it was another poster that mentioned him holding on to his job for another 2 or 3 more years and then retiring. And I would LOVE to get ahold of Arkansas in the SEC tournament this year.
OH PLEASE. I am truly asking for that gift. Give us a full roster and and play them again. That's all. Let THEM have a full roster too. It won't matter. We would win that return matchup - for many reasons.
And also because we all know Cal doesn't really care to win in the SEC tournament, right? (insert Basketball Bennie snicker here)
I know the University of Kentucky DOES.
Arkansas fans .... enjoy that Kentucky win as I had said. It may be the only positive thing you can take from this entire season.
