I can’t tell if Kal is trying to be some activist with the generational wealth crap or he’d rather continue to play as an agent for the NBA. Either way it appears he doesn’t do any coaching, so this continues what went on for years.

Yeah I understand you saying this but when it comes down to it Big Z just does some goofy stuff on the court like he tries to make things look more difficult than they should be. Whether that be grabbing a loose ball or trying to tip a ball back in above the rim he will try to make it look like an amazing play and it hurts his performance. I think Carr is a better basketball player because he takes his craft more seriously and has a desire to do the simple things right. I'm not sure big Z does.

Of course Carr is better. He’s far more experienced. Z is playing with no real direction. Cal is trying to make him something he’s not. Under Pope, Z would get the coaching he needs and be put in the best position to take advantage of his talents.

No, it started as and continues to be a recruiting pitch. "I'm for you and your goals. Those other coaches you are considering are only in it for themselves".

Typical Cal team. No defense

The 12 and 15 teams are some of the best defensive teams of all time. Defense used to be his claim to fame, the last half of his years here he was terrible at coaching defense. He finally adopted a great offense and still lost in the first round...... So happy we have Pope now
