66-56 without their leading scorer and rebounder Savon Goodman.

We get a boost. That Indiana loss to UNLV looking a lot worse. I love it.

Well at least Indiana isn't alone. Oregon also lost to UNLV. On another note, good for ASU. Glad to see Hurley doing a solid job thus far (sans for a loss to Sacramento State).

Hurley looking to be maybe the next coach in Durham? Got a nice squad. Good coach. Team plays hard.

I can see Capel taking over for K. the media will forget the OU negative stuff and focus on the fact he proved himself there with his teams on the court. And then Wojo and Hurley will both be really good coaches. If Cal stays another 5 years at UK and those two keep doing well, I wouldnt mind UK giving one of them a hard look. It would be nice to see ESPN and others kiss our butts with a media darling being our head coach.

Should get a big RPI boost. ASU looks like a tourney team. They did have Goodman against UK right? I forget the other team's players right after the game is over!

Wojo?!?!? Are you kidding? I can't see us specializing in floor slaps and flopping.

you guys are being silly. If Hurley or Wojo ended up the next head coach in 5 years, you would grow to like them and support them immediately. As long as they had proved themselves over these next 5 years of course. I remember the whole No to Cal group ...... those guys turned around real quick didnt they...

I think people would be more pro Hurley. Wojo would not be wanted at all but he might turn out to be a good coach too. Hurley is actually great coach and up and comer.

Oh yea??? Well Kennesaw St. won by 10 at home against Thomas College (5-5 Division III team) and then UL blew them out by 30, so expect UL to get a nice RPI boost from that win as well. [pfftt]

*Just saving UL lurkers the time of defending their weak a$$ schedule.
** I'm not kidding. That team UL played last night was in a close game at home against a D3 team with 5 losses.

Wojo would be a tough pill to swallow, but I will say it's obvious having watched his teams the last two seasons that Hurley is one hell of a coach. Don't know if he could recruit and handle the pressure here, but he's got the X's and O's down.

Agreed. In the end if a coach comes here and wins, the fanbase will love them. Plus Wojo just seems like a guy you would hate if he's on the other team but love if he's on yours IMO

I said in another thread that I wouldn't have a problem if we went after Hurley if he keeps improving and does well at Arizona St. Now Wojo is a different story. Other than the loss to Duke in 92, I never had any issues with Hurley. I think the whole thing with Magloire is what soured me on Wojo. Just like the stomp with Laettner. I also don't remember Hurley constantly slapping the floor, but I could be wrong.

If Bobby Hurley continues his trajectory, he's going to end up at a top 5 job within 5-7 years. Probably going to be Coach K's replacement (just a hunch) but I wouldn't mind him at Kentucky if he can get Arizona State to a Final Four at some point (and Donovan, Stevens, and a few others I have in mind turn us down).

I could tell Arizona St is a good team. They have solid PG play, Atwood can do a little bit of everything, and they are well coached.

I was very impressed with our second half Saturday.

I like playing against Hurley coached teams. I think they are a good test. And I wouldn't have a problem with Hurley coaching here. His name and coaching career may likely transcend his playing career at Duke. I believe his father was a well-regarded high school coach in New Jersey (St. Patrick's or something). Down the road he may be perceived as a great coach who had a solid playing career versus the other way around.

I'd support whoever is the next coach but God, Wojo would make me sick for a while. I couldn't stand that little turd. I could live with Hurley better than him. Of course either would probably have to prove themselves a little more before being considered a serious candidate.

Arizona State will improve more as the season progresses, their one of my sleepers in the NCAA tournament. I wouldn't be surprised to see them pull another top upset at some point down the line. That program is going to continue to get better.
