I think we'll get him myself. I'm confident and its just a gut feeling. Lol. Mississippi St? Come on. He's not going there. He knows he can come here to UK. Be in the spotlight, get his points, get his minutes, get attention, be glorified, and play for Cal who he knows will do a better job getting him ready for the NBA than anyone else in the country. I think we get Newman, Diallo, and Mulder and are preseason favorites. Plus maybe he can be Lisa Ann's new UK man. Ha Ha. Think about this lineup.

This can't be emphasized too much. At the very, very top there's a gap in talent, but at the level of most college players, application and effort makes up for it.

It would be a great move to reclassify. Why would he want to stay in school another year when he can go to UK, compete for a title, and then get drafted?

And now that Duke has Thornton I am not worried about him going there and I think they would have been our main competition for him.

Newman won't be coming to UK. Adidas is in control of his recruitment at this point. It's been rumored for a while that his dad, Horacio Webster, is looking to get something out of his recruitment and Adidas is making that happen.

In addition, Chris Rivers is running Adidas' grass roots bb operation and wants to prop up MSU and Howland who they have had a relationship w since he was at UCLA. Rivers is a Sunny Vaccaro disciple.

I've written him off. Literally everyone is saying Miss. State, so I won't be surprised when he doesn't pick UK. Obviously media guys can be wrong, but this seems so unanimous.

I'm still hoping for Diallo and Jamal Murray. Seems like we actually have a shot with those two (especially Murray).

Early on I really thought we would get Newman and Zimmerman.One didn't work out and it just seems Newman's last interviews weren't looking good for UK.It's a shame because this kid is special and could make us a Final 4 favorite but it just seems like he will go to Mississippi State.

No hope whatsoever. His comments at the Jordan game pretty much closed the book on his recruitment for me. Based on everything he's said and what I've read about him, he wants to be "the man" wherever he goes and wants to be the focal point of the offense. He wont be that here and he knows that which is why he is leaning MSU. I think Cal knows this as well and that is why he has gone so hard after Jamal Murray over the last couple of weeks and is trying to get him to reclassify. FWIW, I think that Murray would be a even swap for Newman (maybe even a bit better). I think we get Murray and Mychal Mulder and play for a 3rd consecutive Final Four while Malik Newman goes to Mississippi State and averages 21 ppg for an NIT team.
