60% of the board has some form of concern. That's pretty telling. Recruiting is still a question with this staff. It just is. Most of those questions relate directly to whether we actually have a significant nil or not.
Personally, I hope we have upgrades from last season. If we get the same caliber player from last year or worse, going to be a similar year as this year. If this last season somehow shows how the rest of his tenure is, I wonder how many fans would be okay with that? Again, Pope over achieved this season and I want him to win a title so bad.

Based on the end of the week how are you feeling now? Still on 2 or dip lower?
I’m still on category 2. Pope built a lot of equity with me last year. If something falls through and we don’t get Alvaro Folgueris, that could concern me further. I know a lot of people really are prioritizing point guard, but with Pope’s offense, the frontcourt is very very important. I think we are still in good shape if you get AF and there are still promising PG options. What about you?

I think I am on category 2 as well. Its a realistic and fair pulse to have right now. My biggest concern is I don't want the same type of players we got last year. We need to change to be competitive in the SEC or we will have the same results. Which I think after a few years if we have the same results in the season, it will divide the fan base again.

Agree. I’m assuming we are going to be better than last year if we land the right options, but that can change. You miss on a good PF and then you are reliant on BG making a major leap and that scares me some, being honest

I do agree that we need a good front court. The only way for BG to be consistently competitive is having a mental breakout year and get more serious about developing in the off season. I think Pope likes finesse guys, but he has to mix finesse pure shooters with athletic scorers who can create their own shot as well and physical front court as well.

I’m not gonna judge till it’s over I but I get a bit of concern. I’m sure pope can put Together a solid team. But a clear upgrade over last year? It’s still time but it’s a bit disappointing we haven’t gotten at least one of the big fish when all of our rivals are

If we have nothing again this time next week, I don't see how anyone cannot have some level of being concerned.
After this supposed deadline if something does not change we probably have some issues for sure. I don’t have all this confidence Braden Smith or someone is gonna enter on the last portal day or something. I’d love to eat my words and we land some late stacked class but right now something feels off. I love Perry, Noah, and Chandler but right now we aren’t winning a final 4 type game with them as integral pieces.

TBH I'm concerned about our front court!
1-3 Positions. Push comes to shove we have JJ Oweh Williams
With Lewis Chandler Noah perry as backups.
Right now we have BG MM in the front court.
We need to sign 2 front court pieces as bad as we need a point.

Yep, that was my point as well. I’m not worried about guard. We, at worst, will have a decent backcourt. Whiffs on frontcourt gamechangers will determine whether you are a middle of the road SEC team, upper tier or elite.

If nothing else this poll proves one thing...We have too many fans that need to either get meaningful relationships in their life or they need to find a hobby. They need something to occupy their time and mind because you stress too much over a sport that is out of your control.
Right! If most of these posters that live on on this board have jobs, I feel sorry for their employer.

I am on level 2 right now, but I'm rapidly approaching level 3. If we don't sign someone of significance by April 7th, then I will be full-on level 3. We need some studs and thus far, we aren't getting any. Pope needs to get his ass in gear and show some urgency.

If we haven’t gotten another significant player by April 7, I will definitely be concerned. I’m sure more players will enter but we have to upgrade our athleticism in the worst way

. . . . Pope built a lot of equity with me last year. . . . .
You hit the bullseye with that sentence right there, ITVI ! I think Pope knows what he's doing. But Pope's also a straight shooter, and I like that just as much as I like his coaching. (Plus, Pope can string three or four complete sentences together in plain English and it doesn't sound like a word salad ... which I'm also enjoying now that we have Coach Pope ! )
GO 'CATS ! ! !

They're selling point is come play at the Mecca of college basketball. Right or wrong, the staff is leaning into this recruiting philosophy.

Maybe when, or if things normalize this will be an effective strategy, but right now the almighty $$$ is winning the recruiting battles. Seems the play is gather up your coffers of cash and put together a team of mercenaries.

If things don't change I'm telling you middle of the pack teams will strategize tanking to save up for a big year. Build a core of rotational pieces with experience, then go big on several high dollar players.
