Are we causing people borderline mental illness?

It seems the influx of our success and particularly this undefeated season, is causing people to borderline lose their sanity

There have been so many crazy things said about UK by the opposition lately, and this Pasadena post thing really is the cherry on top!

It seems like any time Louisville loses a game or UNC approaches another 10 loss season, the Cal threads start popping up like they are rabbit offspring. Why do people in these fanbases, and there are more than just UL and UNC, immediately start to jump on us, because they are having less than desirable years?

Can they really not see how petty, immature, and jealous and insecure they look? Or do they just not care? It seems worse all of a sudden for some reason, and don't even get me started on Kansas fans and their better season with their conference titles hahaha.

I seriously think UK and Calipari are making people go a little crazy in the head.

I want #9 and an undefeated season so badly for the players, the coaches, the fans, and I also want to see just how many people it will drive off the edge mentally as well...

Yes,mostly the mentally challenged to begin with ,namely UL,IU,UNC,and Kansas fans
I think that's where the odd smell is coming from in Louisville, all those bird brains rotting in their skull.

Pretty sad to see adults acting like childish little brats, spewing hate and lies over college kids winning in a sport.People like Zipp,CueCard,Kerry Rhodes,LexHeelFan,and their ilk are mentally ill and should not be allowed to own firearms, drive,or have contact with children. They should be put in a permanent treatment facility to protect the public.

I see Louisville sports fans as a reflection of losers in our society. They hate and slander anyone that is more successful than them. They try and tear them down because of their envy. People hate others success and can't handle that someone is better than them so what do they do? They lie, they hate, they insult, they slander, they come up with a billion absurd reasons why the other person is in their situation with zero credit given.

I love it. In the words of Rupp, "I'd rather be the most hated winner than the most liked loser."

Gladly wearing the black hat, fellas.

I think so. The Georgia game was big too because a lot of them thought UGA could snap the streak and then when they went up by near double digits on UK those same people that were counting on Jawga to beat UK were smelling it. I even saw Barkley getting into the raucousness after UK burned a timeout and the PA was blaring music.

I also think a lot of them are resigning themselves to the notion that UK is just not going to lose.

I think the true test will come for them once we obliterate UF and end a perfect regular season and have a full week of to digest what UK just accomplished with the prospect of winning 9 more and doing the unthinkable.

Look for some numb skull talking head to slip up in the media and make some sort of negative comment about UK or Cal that costs them their job.

We beat Florida tomorrow and it's going to amp up the hate another couple of notches because the haters will know we have a full week before we play again and that v a team in the SECT we should bitch slap Friday.

Buckle up guys it's about to get crazy!

I love this! I admit I thought about, but had sense enough to talk about, undefeated seasons before Cal ever talked about it. If we do it, I think Cal will want to do it again.

We've made Gottlieb so over the top crazy he actually sounds like he likes us now.

'UK Derangement Syndrome'. Non-existent at the end of Tubby's campaign and during the Gillespie years; has reached its zenith this season.

Rick compared UK to the Roman empire and the Yankee's. The latter I think a little less so, but still a stretch. Someone here made a post last week in reference to the hatred leveled at the Yankee's that ended with "signed the American league 1925-2000". Point is of course those on top are often hated by many. Heck I'll admit I used to hate the Yankee's myself.

Let's pick a team that most of us probably don't have much of a grudge against. Say Michigan for example. If they were 30-0 and going for a 40-0 season wouldn't most of us pull against them? Maybe we wouldn't sink to the depth's than some are right now towards UK, but we wouldn't like it. Most of those comments are coming from fan bases where the hatred has long been mutual, and they'll stoop to anything at this point to rationalize it.

And the Pasadena thing was nothing more than pure fiction meant to push the buttons of a few insecure UK fans. Remember this is the internet age we live in. A lot of people have the ability to create the illusion of credibility from their laptops or tablet's.

Absolutely. Listening to 1300 ESPN tonight and the guy from the Rolling Stone....I just don't know where to begin. I couldn't believe that this guy is even a journalist. He obviously has no idea about college basketball or it's history.

It's been the most 'cluttered' year that I can remember....by far. I'm so glad that Bilas (and others I'm sure) gave the clutter speech at the beginning of the practice this season.

That's the thing: when Tubby and Clyde were mucking it up in recruiting, and the results were showing on the court, we weren't saying, "Oh, Pitino is cheating". We were demanding why our coaches, making top five money, weren't producing on the court.

It's obvious that UK's success is severely upsetting some rivals to the point that they are being wildly irrational and that's hard for me to understand because I never been in that boat . I am a UK fan and a staunch defender of UK to the point that I will disrespect your program thrice-fold should you attack mine . I care about what UK does , I don't care what other teams do on a regular basis .

I don't watch UL games because their season is nothing to me , I don't want them to be good just so they will shut up but otherwise they are nobody in my realm . Same goes for Duke,UNC,KU,etc.....I couldn't fathom living and dying on what another team does , it's beyond stupid to be that way with the winningest program of all time because that's a lot of down .

This is mostly addressing the UL fanbase, although it could pertain to others to a lesser degree. This has been slowly building up for a long time now, have read accounts of their jealousy before I was born in 1960. Their success on the court truthfully has been quite good over the last 40 some years, compared to almost all other programs, but instead of relishing in it, they spend more time trashing our program. Makes no sense whatsoever to me. If we manage to stumble and not cut the nets, the masses will eventually level out the hatred somewhat, and just continue the steady uphill climb to insanity. But if we should remain undefeated and reach 40-0, then it absolutely will push some completely off the edge, and that fanbase could implode within itself just out of jealousy. Will be quite entertaining, to say the least. Stay tuned.
