Apparently, Humphries taking the loss really hard.

He shouldn't be sorry. Skal should be sorry for giving up a game winning offensive rebound. That bullshit technical did not lose the game.
How about no one is to blame? Why do fingers always have to be pointed at players and coaches? Skal has nothing to be sorry about.

He did his what he was supposed to do on that play. The defender was clearly beat off the dribble, so Skal had to rotate up to help and challenge the shot. If not for Skal it was a wide open lay up.

Once Skal rotated up, someone else was supposed to rotate and protect weak side. That's how help defense works. Skal can't be in two places at once. Not to mention, he and the offensive player got tangled up and both fell to the ground, so he wasn't even apart of that play.

It's too bad that it obscures how much he grew up tonight in a big time fist fight of a game. He was huge in the last 5 of regulation and the OT. He's really going to get good minutes from here on out as long as he keeps competing like that.
good post. this is what gets me, is he is playing hard for us right now and making a palpable impact. frankly, isaac and the cats didn't deserve that shit.

Giving up a f**k load of offensive rebounds is the real back breaker in this game. Now had he got T'd up in the tournament I'd be willing to bet you all would have a different opinion.

Humphries impressed. HE totally impressed and was a factor. KUDOS to Isaac...I, for one, am pround of him...The refs had a moment to decide outcome of the game...they totally did and let their ego determine the outcome...Yes, I have witnessed 1000's of games, NEVER have I seen an ending like that. I love these CATS

loss will not hurt--UK will win the SEC tournament easily and get a 3-4 seed

Murray failed to block out Davis . It happens just one of those things. Only one Man I know that is perfect.

Really can't blame one play in an overtime road loss. Couple more free throws from a few guys, one less turnover, one more three going down....
Lol...a few weeks ago this would have been considered an upset for the Cats being close.

No, Murray didn't fail to block Davis out - Davis had position to begin with.

Andy Katz said that reporters overheard aTm's Jones bragging to teammates on how he "thanked" Isaac after the game. Stay classy SEC West.

This kid and his family probably hate NCAABB, how do we even explain it too them without it sounding like complete BS? Um it was a Technical foul, which in Australia probably only happens during moments like punches being thrown, fights etc, but was called on Isaac because he was celebrating the biggest play during the biggest game of his young career? College basketball officiating is awful.

Anyone have the GIF of Ulis immediately turning to the ref after Hump slams the ball? It's sooo funny. He looks at him and smiles and says, "Hey, we're cool right? We can just forget that, right?"

It's a GOD DAMNED SHAME. Not his fault. Officials failing to use common sense judgment at a crucial end of game time.

Gee, how many times have I seen THAT happen in 40 years?!?!?!?

I've long since lost count.

Nice language

Hey....it's a rule. Sometimes called, sometimes not....like playing, charge/block, hanging on the rim. Learn and remember. It ain't the tourney. Great time to learn.

Glad Katz got it out there.

Gotta feel for the dude. These emotions just show how much he cares, and this is a powerful learning lesson. I think it'll make him a stronger player.

He's gonna have plenty of pt from here on out to make up for the mistake. Just keep balling big fella. The loss isn't on Humphries.

Skal is awful. Hes horrible. He does not go for rebounds. He sits there and just watches the Ball go up then watches whoever rebound it. It hurts to watch. He's just weak.

Oh well it's over and done with. I'm looking on the bright side. That kid is going be a handful once he gets some experience. I expect him to be a very valuable 4 year player. Humphreys is only 18. He is going to get faster and stronger. There are some big games and big plays in his future. Glad he is a Cat.

Briscoe got a T for it like 2 games ago

No he didnt. Go to UKbasketballlive.com and find the @ USC jr. game... .. watch both the regular version and the Pratt and Leach radio edit.... as Leach and Pratt said The call was on "two team mates celebrating" When Briscoe shoved Murray. and if you watch the video... you will see what I'm talking about..

The kid played great.
If we are going to play the "what if" game, then lets do it.
What if Marcus makes the free throws?
What if Jamal hit his last three?
What if Tyler doesn't throw the ball across court and commit a turnover?
What if Brissco hits one of his jumpers?
My point to all this is simple, one play doesn't lose this game. It is a combination of plays that could have put us in position to win.
Anyone who blames the big kid, can go to hadies.

Fair enough. He's still quite a bit better than you, though. So he does have that going tor him.

Also, what exactly does any of that have to do with my post? If you don't understand help defense and rotations, then I'm not sure what to tell you.

The only thing is I can't believe Hump didn't learn anything from Briscoe getting T'd up the game before for the same thing. Two games in a row with T's for slamming the ball is inexcusable.

And Briscoe deciding to put on a jump shooting exhibition didn't exactly help us tonight, either.
