It’s a G-League game. The #1 prospect Victor Wembanyama vs the #2 prospect Scoot Henderson. Henderson is a guard and he’s damn good but Wembanyama is an absolute unicorn.

Hes 7’4 with an 8 foot wingspan but he moves like hes 6’9. He’s incredibly fluid. He’s blocking anything in the paint as expected but the crazy thing is he’s out there shooting like hes Curry. He’s made 7 3’s and has over 30 points right now. I don’t know that I’ve ever seen anyone like him.

Oh and as a side note, one of the guys on Victor’s team has the best name I’ve ever seen…. Steeve Ho You Fat. 😂

I need a Ho you Fat jersey now. But yeah the race to tank for Victor is gonna be as interesting as the top seeds this year.

I know Wembanyama is going to make tons of cash going number 1. I think college would of been a better option then G league. Tons of exposure the college route. Every college fan would know this guy if he had chosen college.

wiki says that he's already been playing professionally for the last 2 years. Amateur sports and (in particular) college sports don't have the same presence for European kids. Why not make money? His parents were 1st rate athletes and have guided his development.

He looks extremely good.

Everyone who remotely follows basketball at any level knows who he is. He didn't need college for development or "exposure".

Well maybe, but I follow basketball pretty closely and this thread is the first I've heard of either of these guys. So long as they can make their case to the NBA, I'm sure they don't need college. It seems they're making their case pretty well.

He doesn’t play in the G league, he plays for a European professional team. Given that he’s already made a fat pile of money playing professionally and is a lock to be No. 1 pick in this year’s NBA draft, why would he possibly care about getting “exposure” at some American college?

Wembanyama is going to have teams tanking on a whole other level now

Problem is, you really can't anymore. The last place team only has like a 20% chance to get the #1 pick, and really, the odds aren't much different between the last 3-5 teams.

Really hoping the basketball Gods give Houston the #1 pick this year.. after being the worst team for 2 years and not getting the overall #1 pick.. we are due.

The only thing I see is that he needs to distribute the ball and rebound more for his size. He started the game at PG, I don’t know how exactly they play but 0 assists is kinda weird if he’s playing guard some of the time. His rebounding will probably improve with strength.
I’m not as concerned with him distributing the ball . He won’t be a guard in the league and I’m sure he was looking to put on a show last night . I missed the beginning but when I saw him he wasn’t playing PG.

Definitely need to rebound more but it’s just one game hard to judge him for that .

That's odd, because I follow football (overall) more than I do basketball, but I've been watching this guy's highlights for a while now. He incredible. 😎

Houston would be good OKC is probably the most likely they already have a ton of picks and have shown they will tank in the past

Hard to say how good Houston will be. They were, from a record standpoint, still the worst of all 30 NBA teams over the last two years. We had a great draft, but the team is extremely young. I don't see Houston climbing out of the basement just yet.

I follow the Cats in basketball and that’s about it. I get news on who our rivals and the other top teams get on here as well.

Never heard of him. Neither has any of friends who follow sports with me, nor has anyone in my family who follows basketball.

Sorry bro, gate keeping failed.

No whose playing and does it cost anything?

NBA people are telling me to shut him down, and we are not going to shut him down," Bouna Ndiaye told ESPN on Wednesday. "If we came with that kind of talk to [Wembanyama], he will look at us and say, 'What are you talking about?' He'll never agree to that. He wants to compete and get better. With Victor, it's basketball first and everything else second. He was so pissed off that he lost."

So...you're saying you actually don't follow basketball besides from UK or other colleges? I don't follow college basketball much except UK & ETSU, but I do follow the NBA and was looking at future mock drafts a couple of years ago and saw his name and Googled him. The reason you or your friends/family never heard of him is because there was less than 0% chance of this guy ever going to college. He's incredible, and as others have said, it's Victor and Scoot Henderson in their own universe as the #1 & #2 picks.

Would throw the kid from Baylor as a close third but the first two have clearly separated themselves

Yeah I thought he was in The G League. He wouldn't be able to play college anyway.

No I think it takes alittle more than "remotely. I listen to 5 hours of sports radio 5 night's a week and last night was the first time this guy has came up. The talking points wasn't Victor. It was his buddies last name.

Can someone link that stupid thread where about 3/4ths of our fans were saying how it will be a good thing when OAD is gone and colleges no longer have a chance to land guys like this?

Let's take the best players from 2010, 2012, 2008, 2006, and 2015 and make sure that type of talent never sees the light of day on a college court again; because, ya know, what we need more of is more Olivier Sarr's dominating the paint instead of guys like Karl Towns and Anthony Davis.
