Anyone Listening to KSR Right Now? Hagans and Cal Fight?

I heard the show as well. It seems Matt got a text or call from someone he trusts that verified the incident.

However, imo, we should proceed with caution when making judgement and proclaiming what should be done. We don’t know the details/full story. Certainly not yet anyway.

I was honestly going to make a post asking that question to be kinda funny.

Now it aint funny.

Well his name was on the agency list that got raided by the fbi... the one connected to adidas.... and do we trust adidas or that agency? no...... I would of said trust hagans....... but after this.. I dont know.

But even then....... I bet it has more to do with him feeling pressure to get to the NBA and forcing things and being frustrated............... its just after this spat... it makes me wonder. thats all

Who’s name was on the agency list, Hagans?

Yup. Richards got a tough board and Hagans tried to knock it out of his hands when Richards didn't immediately pass him the ball. Hagans was then seen telling Richards "throw me the ball" about 5 times during a TO.

I didn’t get to watch, only listened on the radio, but yikes.

LOL WTF trying to get drafted bench him play JJ at 3 a guy who cherishes every minute he gets run quickley or maxey at point or let one play two guard

If Hagans thinks Cal is too hard on him, then he's miscalibrated on "too hard".

I'm kind of glad this came out, actually. I hope Cal feels like he's being publicly challenged and forces Hagans to shape up a la Jorts.

Bench him. He can go. Don't need this ****. That's as selfish as it gets. Especially with a limited roster and a coach who has stuck up for him and defended his garbage play.

The ATL PG's UK has had (Harrow and Hagans) are headcases and Cal needs to avoid them like Coronavirus.

But if cal fought with him and played him that’s on the coach. He should be benched. It’s flat out obvious that hagans thought this was his team and turned out not to be. Instead of accepting his role he’s become a one man wrecking crew and cal has enabled it by dealing with hagans with kid gloves. Maybe cals had enough but i think hagans tries to reset and cal rides him yet again to a flame out. Teams have no shot with a guy like hagans putting himself first

It’ll be interesting to see how Cal handles this whole deal! If I was a betting man, I’d say Hagans will be back in the starting lineup on Saturday and I doubt it ever gets addressed. Hopefully, it’s just an isolated incident, but it’s still a really bad look

It’s only going to get worse in the future with high profile prima donnas who have always been around people who worship the ground they walk on and feel like the world should be served up to them on a silver platter. The youth in this country is changing year by year. They’re not the same now as the 2010 class. Softer and more entitled. I’m ready to start recruiting some bulldog type guys that have been looked over and come in with a chip on their shoulder ready to prove they belong instead of always going after the stars by their name and their “NBA potential”. Can you imagine what the dynamics of the youths personality will be like in 2030? Hell, we might even have a transgender on the team just to keep up with political correctness (que Dywane Wade’s he/she). Even today, it’s more about being an Instagram model/ social media star who happens to play basketball. It was hard to win with a young team when Cal first started. It’s going to be damn near impossible in the next 10 years.

You get to choose who you recruit. Coaching young guys isn't that bad, I coach HS and the only thing that has changed is you need to explain the "why" in terms of what we're doing and how we are wanting them to play. But they take getting cussed out as long as you also praise them when they do well, so like anyone they appreciate fairness.

No excuse for major issues in college program like UK--you get to select who you recruit and play. If it's an issue, move onto the next one or recruit over them and send them packing. I laugh at the sensitive guys in college though--what the hell do they think would happen in NBA if they played as poorly as some are? Think fans are going to be "nice". At least in Rupp they don't boo your ass off the court or call you trash...but you have to be good enough to get to NBA to experience that and this dude is nowhere near an NBA player. The **** coming out after this game is a bad look for a guy who has to be about things that aren't stats--leadership/toughness, unselfishness, and instead he's got in his feelings and acted like a spoiled brat.

Oh lord. Now it's being reported that Ashton got into it with the strength coach.

This situation is why I think we need Orlando Antigua back at UK. He seems to be much better at talent assessment than Cal, Payne, and Justice. It's his strong point and we haven't been the same since the recruits he was in on have left.
Gotta believe Coach O would help steer Cal away from head cases like Hagans.

Great insight.

I would just ask, why doesn't Ashton see how deficient he is in the area of scoring everywhere but the FT Line? And because of this, he needs to show how well he can run a team and defend to prove his worth at the next level.

It amazes me how kids like Hagans this year and Briscoe from 2 years ago want to pout about the way Cal coaches them when they have to KNOW how poorly they have played.

It’s never their fault. We live in a world where the thing to do in regards to your failures is to blame someone else. It’s certainly not MY fault!

I'm really stunned and sad about all of this.I've never heard anything bad about Ashton as far as having an attitude problem. He's always seemed a very hard worker.Cal will have his hands full hand this team now. What a downer.:(

Easier to blame others then to take responsibility or accept reality. Film doesn't lie. Family and friends do. People who think they know the game on social media do. People who think you aren't being used correctly do. For all the criticism Cal gets -and some is more then fair/true--he has done well by getting guys into the NBA and they perform at a level that shows he knows what he's doing in that aspect.

My red flag with Hagans is that he is mentally soft and can't take criticism. If you come to UK and to play for Cal, you better be able to hear that you sucked in a game or you might as well go somewhere else. The spotlight is like an NBA team and they push you hard. But he's the lone guy who never can get called out or ripped for playing like ****. Then his Dad cries and whines about things in an article with Ben Roberts? Adversity reveals whether you have character or are a character. UK promoted the crap out of him and has protected him. He responds with the crap we're hearing from calling out his HC, to allegedly getting into it with the S&C Coach? The stuff with Richards is just a bad look but happens--but you do it on night the other stuff gets leaked out, team falls apart, it's bad look.

And for the Hagans family/defenders, he's already on record saying he couldn't get "up" for an Elite 8 game with trip to Final Four on the line. So he's got some soft attributes that have shown and he's openly admitted. His best version is to be tough/lead and fight. He pouted, cried/whined and played like a soft ass *****. Get into the gym, and work on your game if you want to be praised.

I still can’t believe his dad said he probably needed some rest because he was beat up this season. So is every other division 1 player. Man the heck up.
