In my older age (47, not that old I know), I just can’t watch awful basketball. Especially road games where officials are catering to the home crowd. It’s infuriating.

Not blaming it all on officials because we sucked.

I turn it and start following on my phone. I used to look down on people that did it. Now I realize
It’s just better for my blood pressure.

im 54 and i turned it off with 5 mins to go. but i lost alot of interest way before that. not griping or mad. i just cant get into it like i did when i was younger. alot of that is cals fault over the last 8 years but alot is just getting older i think. i still love pope and this team im just not gonna let it ruin my week like i used to.

I’m not sure the time but it was around 3-4 minute mark when they went to the monitor yet again to try to call us for a flagrant. Was just done subjecting myself to them at that point. Should have known on the fouled three to give them the momentum back down 5.

I have it on my phone. I stopped watching once they converted 4 points after we cut to 5. You knew we weren't winning then.

I have books to read and tv shows to watch. I am not as hard-core as some and as I used to be.

Usually I will turn it off if it gets too bad. I went to bed for Clemson game (halftime) and turned off OSU game.

I sat like an idiot and watched tonight.

Just posted about this in another thread. I'm 48 and I started doing this exact thing last year. Can't stand road games. Just get way too worked up with the officiating BS. Just checked in at the online score of tonight's game midway through the first half and never turned the TV on once. I usually wait until deep in the second half and if we're up or it's really close I'll turn it on with 4 - 8 minutes or so left. I hate road games.

I learned my lesson when I left my girlfriend’s house one night in ‘94 when the game was pretty much over and I went home. We were down 30+ at LSU. I did listen to it on the way home and by the time I pulled in my drive, we were ahead, if memory served. I woke my dad up and told him what was happening and he thought I was joking. LOL!

Now I stay tuned in most of the time until the end, unless I have something to do.

I turned to the Tenn vs Florida game. I wasn't going to waste time watching the second half when the team clearly didn't care very much about winning.

Same. Too many other life priorities to let UK Basketball dominate my life like I did before I had a family. I’m sad when I go to bed, but am usually over it the next day.

I’ve also been a diehard Bengals fan since 1988. So I’m well trained when it comes to confronting my emotions after a frustrating loss…only difference is that I expect UK Basketball to win most games. So it does take a little more effort!

I am a Commander's fan, so Jayden Daniels has provided some distraction when UK barfs on itself.

When I saw that the net result of us continuously clawing back into it, only to fall further behind again, was more time running off the clock, I turned it off.

I turned it off after the banked in 3 in the first half, played video games and followed the game on my phone. Saw we were only down 5. Next time I checked, we were back down double digits.

I’m in my 40s and I used to get so pissed off over us getting beat badly that I would be an a-hole to my wife, scare my dogs with my yelling and stomping, throwing remotes, and generally be unpleasant the rest of the day, etc.

At a certain age, I realized acting like an ass to those I love over college kids playing a basketball game is no way to behave as a grown man.

Now, when it looks like we’re going to lose, I turn it off and occasionally check the score on my phone. If we comeback and win, I’ll watch it on DVR. If we lose, game didn’t happen mentally. It’s better for my overall mood, heart rate and blood pressure.

I'm getting there on all sports.

I walked out of the room & let hubs suffer through it till 10:00 in the second half & I was like, "F this!" Might as well bitch at the tv together. I wished I had muted sound & turned on the radio. The color commentary was painful, to say the least!

I watch them to the very end, even though we are getting throttled. I want to see how Pope coaches them up to the end. He is truly trying to teach them to the very end. I respect that and I loved seeing Pope make Robinson be out there at the end of the game. I’m hoping that the team grows and realizes that it’s better to be aggressive than to be defensive and defenseless!

I only watched the first 5 minutes and turned it over to the Tenn/Florida game .

That game was SUPER hard to watch. Fouls, whistles, turnovers, and reviews littered the entire game. Zero flow. I watched a HS game on my phone while this game was on the TV for most of the second half. It was just an impossible game to get into. Couple that with the SEC Networks productions being about JUCO level and that was enough to make my attention wander. Like for real, the level of production on the SEC network is really, really freaking awful.

Hate to say … turned it off 5 mins left. Sluggish play and horrible refs. Only thing worse was the one of the commentators. He was was a real idiot. We have to get more physical. Love Pope but like to see him get angry about some of the terrible calls. Robinson was a no show.

I watched the whole thing, I've been watching UK since 1958. Now to the point of your post I am considering not watching another road game this season. If this is what the SEC has become we should all be done with it. The officiating was beyond description, did we play poorly, yes we did. When we cut the lead to 5 the refs made sure we got no closer.

I didn't think a college game could be called that one sided. Pope would have been justified in taking the team off the court at the last t v timeout and told the press that we had no chance of winning due to the officiating and he didn't want to risk injury to any of his players

I turned it as soon as they went up five points early in the game. This team is easy to tell they're going to lose.
It's at least the fourth game this year I've turned the channel and just check the score every 15 minutes.
I won't even turn on the Mississippi State game. I'll check the scores see how they're doing and if they're winning I'll watch cuz they're losing I won't.

I'm done with watching Kentucky basketball lose like shit. The Play and loss to Ohio State and Georgia is unexcusable. Getting blasted off the court in the first half and never be in the game it's not how Kentucky basketball rolls.

You might want to understand the assignment better cuz if you keep losing like this you'll be looking for another job soon.

I was at prayer night. By the time I came home, it was over.

Turns out I should have prayed for Kentucky.

I've been doin it for longer than I can remember. It's the 21st century, no need to sit around consuming any form of entertainment that is pissing you off. Unless that is the intent of it, like watching a bad guy succeed in a drama show.
