Anybody talking about Berry's (not called) walk?

Sorry hate UNC with a passion, but unless you pick the pivot foot up you are not getting s walk call there. His foot never came off the floor, your nitpicking here.
But that is the problem..Wether the refs are too stupid to make the call or they are putting their own interpretation to the rules which is not allowed, these kinds of plays are ruining college basketball..He walked and there is no way to reason it not being called. You cannot move it all over the floor..Just because he didn't pick it up means nothing.

I understand that someone could argue that a players pivot foot always slides a bit, but this instance is extremely excessive. Berry is switching the pivot point back and forth from the ball of his foot to the heel of his foot.

I wonder if the refs missed some calls against Oregon as well. I bet they did, but that doesn't fit the agenda on this board. Refs miss calls all the time is my point. I hate when it benefits a team I hate or hurts a team I root for but it is what it is.

One shining moment should just be a highlight reel UNC-CHeat's bad calls and no calls.
This tournament makes me want to have one "shining" moment...

There was also that play late in the game where Berry slipped and fell down without being touched by an Oregon player and they still called the foul on Oregon.

The NCAA has announced the officials for next year's Final Four. cats2010, Johnny Gentle and IUfanBorden will be calling the championship game.

Sliding a pivot foot is a walk.

Are you actually defending cheating for UNC because they did it for Duke?

If that's what you got out of that I don't know what to do for you. Point being not only UNC, but Duke can get away with that kind of crap.
If Bam pump fakes in the post it's a walk. It's garbage.

mcroberts lifts his foot off the ground. more egregious than the berry play

i enjoyed it when raftery (who clearly roots against uk) blurted out 'nice push off' when berry drove on hawkins, but didn't mean that he wanted the obvious offensive foul called

There was a lot of slipping going on yesterday and it's usually on the logos. They have got to stop trying to put more and more graphics on courts. They look like train cars sprayed with graffiti anymore

My bad in your case. you have my apology. I guess I have just seen way too much defending the indefensible lately.

You also said it was nitpicking -- do you really wanna go on record that sliding your pivot foot over two feet as you're keeping the ball away from a defender is "nitpicking"?

There are a lot more egregious calls to point out other than that one. If you watch the play it doesn't look bad at all until you start focusing on where his foot started and where it ended up. The foul call on Oregon against Jackson (alluded to on another thread) was worse as was the late foul call on Oregon when berry tripped and fell.

That other, more egregious calls weren't made is no reason to excuse missing an obvious one.

At any rate, when you consider the time the play occurred -- less than 5 minutes to go in a close game where every possession is critical -- swallowing your whistle on such an obvious violation definitely meets any definition of "egregious."

Just stop dude. Doesn't get more egregious than sliding your pivot foot 2 feet with no call.

You enjoyed raftery rooting against uk.....

Of course you did.

A horrible no call, but like the Meeks push in the back on the free throw, it's become trendy amongst NCAA officials to allow that blatant sliding of the pivot foot. Hell, he actually picked up off the floor a couple times. Officials tend to be herd animals, and when their brethren start putting their own spin on certain plays, they all fall into line.

That's why each year there are "points of emphasis" ...to reel them back in to following the letter of the rule book. I'll also say I've seen Fox do something similar as well on occaison...maybe not so blatant.

One of the smartest things ever said on this board. Just tells it like it is.....hate for other good programs is all that is ever discussed no matter what the topic post is....

And then you have the people who complain about the people who complain.

And then you have the people who complain about the people who complain.

The "bitching about bitching" crowd. The absolute worst. Far worse than normal Bitchers. They are absolutely insufferable.

You would think they would just ignore threads like this instead of reading two pages and then commenting on them

Then they wouldn't get to control the about of sunshine pumped up this boards backside daily. Especially Cal nut huggers ......actually made me like Cal a fraction less than necessary.

Lol, starts at the P, shuffles back to the O, plants and goes at the N.
Plus -- I just checked -- it occurred with 40 seconds to go and UNC leading 77-74. I'm pretty sure Oregon would have loved to take possession right there.

Simply inexcusable for TWO officials to swallow their whistles at that time.
