Anybody talking about Berry's (not called) walk?

Thought this thread was going to be about the 4 steps he took before charging into the Ark player.

Sorry hate UNC with a passion, but unless you pick the pivot foot up you are not getting s walk call there. His foot never came off the floor, your nitpicking here.

Show me in the official rules where (a) the pivot foot must be picked up for a walk to occur or (b) sliding your pivot is allowed.

Rocky 3 just started so I'll wait.

You are not allowed to slide your pivot foot like that.

"1. Traveling
When you hold the ball without dribbling during any part of the game when the clock is running, then you lift or slide one foot, your stationary foot becomes the pivot foot. Once a pivot foot is established, you may lift that foot -- to shoot a jumper, for example -- but you may not place the foot back on the court while you have the ball. Therefore, you may not slide both of your feet while holding the ball, or you commit a traveling violation. You may, however, slide both of your feet when you’re throwing an inbounds pass."

I got this from this website - http://living.thebump.com/can-feet-slide-basketball-10083.html

idiot refs are addicted to calling walks when certain players head fake/shot fake and drive. they're claiming the pivot foot lifts before the player dribbles

cats2010's point about this play is correct IMO. unless the foot comes off the floor, it's not going to be called

BS dragging the pivot foot is not allowed. It's called correctly almost every game. When a player shuffles his feet it's called.

When you are pivoting like berry was there it is never going to be called a walk and contrary to other points in this thread we have never been called for walks like this either. Certainly you can't move yourself down the floor just dragging the foot along but that was simple pivoting technique. Shuffling your feet is an entirely different move as shuffling entails lifting your pivot foot which is a walk. We have been called for numerous walks of this variety on head fakes and drives of which I do think were bad calls.

You obviously have no understanding of the rules of basketball. One of the more fundamental rules at that.

Pivot foot Pivots. Thus the name. They don't move

I'm not implying by the rule it isn't technically a walk but they are not going to call a walk like this. I haven't seen a walk called like this on anyone. And I know the rules just fine thank you.

Why have rules then?

That's where we are at in society. We've gotten to a point that rules don't mean shit.

We were called for this twice in the SEC tournament, Briscoe and Hawk.

You know why you haven't seen it called? Because it's usually called the very instant tge pivot foot moves. Only unc can have a guy drag his foot 3 feet without calls

One shining moment should just be a highlight reel UNC-CHeat's bad calls and no calls.

I was thinking the exact same thing last night. Highlights of blown calls, no calls and a lot of clips of Higgins and company.

They can even change the song to fit:

The ball is tossed
And there you are
Making bogus calls
North Carolina's biggest star

And so forth.
