Putting a mailbag together and if you have any questions on football or football recruiting would love to take a stab at answering them.

Thanks for the opportunity, JR. How does 2019 shape out as far as KY's recruiting prospects? Who is on their early board, and how does UK look for them?

Thanks again.

Assume with departures UK now takes a full class(25), can they backcount? What's your thoughts on Taylor? Is UK still recruiting Goodin or any other JUCO DL? Thanks!

Just curious with the current departures and the seeming uncertainty of the three Ohio four stars who is Kentucky looking at to finish THIS years class come February.

Xavier Peters, I know there was a recent push by Florida fans to try to get him to Gainesville. He didn’t sign during early period so what are you hearing on his commitment to Kentucky ? What do you think the chances are that he does in fact sign next month and end up in Lexington?

Check out the article Ben Roberts from LHL posted yesterday. Pretty sure its been linked as a thread on the Lair.

This staff has utilized being a part of the SEC as a huge part of recruiting against other conferences, that got us to a new level of recruit. How do we recruit against other SEC schools who are winning more than us? Considering these are the teams we compete primarily against.

For the 2019 class will the coaches emphasis be focused more offensively or defensively? Which positions will be of the highest need?

Is Christopher Oats leaning to the big blue? Would be a solid way to close out and move us up the rankings.

What's the word on whether the coaches are intent on "thunder" or "lightning" in any second 2018 RB? Where do we stand with K. Smoke?

Other than Smoke...Is UK talking with any other RBs for this class?

And not really recruiting...But wondering:
1) What are the chances that Ware will be back with the team? Was his suspension permanent?
2) If Richardson's reason for heading to JUCO was for academics, any chance he returns to UK if he gets things in order?

Two of our signed recruits still don't have Rivals ratings. What's the hold up?

Can you answer when Cash got slow laterally was it this year or last year ? :joy::cheers2:

Not sure about this but it could have been when he went to that all you can eat buffet and ate too much spaghetti.

Just kidding, it is funny that that wasn't spotted a lot earlier in the process. And just how valid is it, reading and reacting faster could make that look better.

A lot of good questions, and Transfer U has been higher than us in the team rankings way too long, if either one of our ZERO commits were rated I think we would pass them.

When do we get answers?

Our proximity is a big advantage in recruiting Ohio vs most SEC teams, the Bama's probably excepted, but at a disadvantage with most SEC states in that regard when recruiting the southern states. And of course don't even mention the tradition, in state talent, basketball school reputation (getting better) etc etc.

We need a breakout year, I don't see anywhere we shouldn't be improved next year position wise and hopefully our staff isn't too old to learn AND we will hire a couple more improvements. We are just now getting close to the level of talent most SEC teams have.

The tenth assistant might even help to offset Saban's dozen or so to a small extent. But then Saban will probably bring in an unpaid assistant to that assistant, so the money game just escalates.

A breakout year would help greatly but to do so, we must have a QB who can preform at all SEC level. This has to be the highest recruiting priority. We also must obtain at least two game changers on offense and defense. Snell is one on offense but can't tell we have one at WR. OL should be at a pretty strong level. On defense we have potential at DB and LB but not all conference level yet. DL recruiting has been a major disappointment, challenge for everyone, but other schools find talent. That leaves coache's impact-off season, game preparation, and in game decisions and adjustments. Believe we have to do better with decisions which best use our players abilities, become less predictable on offense and defense, be more aggressive and confident on offense and defense, don't be afraid to take chances and use trickery at unpredictable times. We must trust backups at all positions to provide them with much needed experience and confidence building during the season. Finally we must settle on an offensive identity for recruiting and for establishing a higher performance level, same for defense although it has a high priority on unpredictability. Coaches must demonstrate more confidence in players by their play calling on offense and defense and being aggressive rather than just reactive.

We know Ohio and the Deep South are areas we will continue to concentrate on but what are some other geographical areas you think we could explore more for recruits?

Pennsylvania? Illinois?

The Bear got MOST of his All Americans from the western coalfields of Pennsylvania. Got some at Bama also.

Curci too. Probably harder with Franklin up there now and Pitt and WVU do work there but there's some good players there and you'd think we'd haves some pull for kids who want to come south a little and get in the SEC, a little like Ohio.

With the success Benny has exhibited in this system, will we see the nations top RB's start considering UK and who are the RB's in the 19 and 20 classes that have interest in UK?

Lot of questions, thinking you might have to pay for this much info and go premium.

UK's composite recruit ranking is like 2.82, even though UK does not have one evaluated recruit holding less than 3 stars. Two UK recruits remain evidently enigmas to Rivals. Even though they both signed with UK in December, Rivals recruiting experts evidently cannot assess them to provide them with stars. But, the composite star calculator evidently sees those players as having zero stars. That is a huge flaw in the system and a good reason why fans should pay little attention.

Will try to work through as many of these as possible in the coming weeks. And if you asked it here, I will not put the answer behind a paywall.

JROW -

Any updates to the questions posted in this thread? My apologies if you posted elsewhere, and I missed it.

RB Tavion Thomas de-committed from Oklahoma today, will UK make a late push for him or is K. Smoke "the guy"?

If Oats nor Peters sign with UK is there another LB they may have in mind to sign?

The "experts" are too busy pimping on their pay site to traditional football powers to be concerned about us, the Great Unwashed.

I'm pretty sure any recruit that is committed to a P5 team will get a default 2 star ranking at a minimum.
