Any Dateline fans?

Just had a lot of family stuff to deal with. Nothing life-threatening or anything. Essentially just saddled with EXTREMELY needy in-laws.

Told them all to pound sand yesterday, and said that I'm heading to MY house, by MYSELF for the weekend. Find someone else to haul your load for a few days.

Damn Dateline is really digging for stories now

Dateline and 20/20 are Friday night must-see TV for me. I've also gone down the YouTube true crime rabbit hole. It's fun watching the full length interrogations. This one is probably one of my all-time favorites just for all the twists and turns before the truth finally comes out. The guy asks the detective to lead him in prayer at one point before confessing (can tell the detective never did this before).

Love Dateline. Keith Morrison has a voice made for that show. Same can be said for Forensic Files. The older episodes were the best. That new guys voice just doesn't get you into it like Peter Thomas' did.

I honestly believe I have watched every episode
I find myself annoyed when I see the same case that I’ve seen on other shows from ID, Snapped, Paula Zahn, etc.

1. I do not like anything that doesn’t have closure. I need to know that this case had some type of ending none of that “ohhh wonder who did it?” after 90 minutes.

2. 90% of Dateline is husbands who killed their wives, had their wives killed while they were out of town, and women who had their new lover kill their ex.

I still watch every one. Keith is the best host.

Bill Kurtis on Cold Case Files also has a voice made for those shows.
Peter Thomas of Forensic Files made that show scary to me. Watched all of them.

Also I was on a murder reenactment show on Court TV before that basically went to ID. A lot of half face shots, and being bludgeoned to death while blurry.

How did you get on that?

How did you get on that?
Lived in California and they just looked at submitted head shots and tried to assign people that resembled a specific victim in their catalog.

I played this guy who got blugeoned to death by his ex girlfriend's new lover. So it was like shots of the lower part of my face talking on the phone, and me getting beat with like a pipe but it was just like duct tape tube thing and it actually hurt.

I did call my mother to make sure she tuned in to see her son be pretend murdered.

My wife and I watch Dateline, 48hrs and 20/20. We record them and watch falling asleep. I bought my wife the Keith Morrison sweatshirt for Christmas this year. Everyone has loved it.

Ever since watching the Dahmer series on Netflix though, the above shows just have not hit right. Unless someone is a serial killer, killing a spouse or side chick just doenst move the needle anymore.

Went and got my girls some doughnuts a few weeks ago around 645 as I couldnt sleep. I pulled up and this guy was standing outside his car outside the store and got in and drove off as I was getting out of my car. Obviously still dark outside. Its a small shop and typically high school girls working when I go there. I was inside for 2-3 minutes and no one came out to help me. Dateline kicked in and I nervously looked around the counter fully expecting to see a dead body on the floor. A girl came out a few later and I assume she was just in the bathroom.

About 20 years ago, there used to be this show called 'I Detective' and it was like an interactive/trivia crime show where it went over the best thing to do. It would be like 'Where is the best place to look for fingerprints? A) Door handle B) Steering Wheel C) Rearview mirror. A lot of fun.

I've watched so many crime shows, you get the formula down to what to expect. On some of these you can tell cops knew immediately but Dateline had to drag out a 90 minute episode out of it.
