I'm officially on the fire Scott Woodward bandwagon....these kids haven't been coached up since leaving high school
I was just going to say that. These are highly recruited kids and they can't catch a GD cold, much less a pass right at their chest. Two drops for that kid tonight. Can nobody catch the damn ball?
And he damn near fell down on his TD catch....he's probably nervous and scared out of his mind and playing tight.
if I were OC....I'd not be running plays to him
He literally caught a 3 yard pass in the flats. Glad he caught it but let's not act like that was a difficult catch.
Yea....it was as simple a play as possible.....and he stumbled and damn near fell down. Nothing impressive
They may not have to fire him , but we need someone coaching our young receivers that has actually played the position. Either that or bring in about 4 transfer portal receivers every year that have been developed by someone else.
I know Craig personally. He applied for the position back when they hired Lamar Thomas . He didn’t even get an interview. It was a slap in his face. That’s why his son Russ (who’s in the nfl) de committed from UK .

He dropped every target this year iirc. Last week he couldn't field the kickoff either. Almost blew the gimme TD.

Yep he’s supposed to be the next wandale. They need to drive a brinks truck to the house of the top 2 WR in the portal next year. Brown should have transferred like we all feared he would. He can’t catch, can’t run good routes and can’t hold on to the ball. He quite literally just a body to fill a position right. Ow.
He has been absolutely awful this season. Leading D1 receivers in dropped percentage. Not sure I’ve seen a player regress as much as he has from his freshman to sophmore season.
So what.....Dane needs to play and then we'll sort out if he's being used correctly. Dane has not dropped a ball in two games now...so that is a good correction from early year issues. But he still is not a willing blocker on the edges.
Teams can't be held hostage by "i am going to transfer if I don't get my way". Simply put, play to win the games and if kids aren't down with it....then just go grab kids from portal to replace. It's really that simple. Until NCAA shuts down this portal garbage....you just coach every game to win for your program and if kids don't like....then the team uses the portal to their advantage vs. being held hostage by it. Hell Tayvion can play circles around Dane and Barion and he's a transfer WR.
The only thing I remember him catching other than the screen for a TD tonight was a busted coverage wide open TD pass that got called back.

You can understand why morale and synergy is so awful on offense when you see abs get that call for basically an automatic TD on a beautiful play call.
You're a wr killing yourself in practice and special teams waiting for your chance. Parents and friends come to or watch all your games. A guy in front of you drops everything all game long, including a beautiful 3rd and long throw that would've been a game changing conversion. His other drops are crucial too.
Instead of you getting a shot, the guy who sh1t the bed all this time gets a beautiful schemed TD run just for him. Why wouldn't the guys behind him be upset? They should be!
I know it's portal era but you can't constantly appease a few guys to no end. You just cant. Not only is it bad management in general, but it's also completely contrary to the UK culture stoops built. Imo it's exactly why we're seeing it come unraveled.

The former was a prediction based on potential. The latter is a statement of fact. Big difference.
I don’t want to see players transfer. But do want to see the entire coaching staph go somewhere else.
Whoever started the thread a couple days ago, “Why can’t we get top qbs” was answered last night with live representation of why.
We should give some of the guys behind them more chances. It can't be worse.

I know of one back up who will likely transfer. I'm sure there are more.
I don't blame them. Message is clear they're not getting a chance no matter how poorly some guys play
