I am not a football expert, so I ask honestly and sincerely:

With our exact roster, could Heupel calling plays and his offense make a difference ?? Would we look that much improved, or not ?? I do not know.

Yes. Our offense has struggled from day one. Even the Mac school shutdown our running game down, and got lot's of pressure on Levi's. I have him several games to iron out this offense, but it's fixing to get ugly. DC's have enough tape on us and will expose him.
That's my opinion. We will see, but mizz and ul might get us.

Yes, with the way he spreads the field and forces the defense into bad positions, with brown and key on the outside and Robinson in the slot Kentucky will be a one of the better offensive teams in the nation

We're liable to lose Brown and Key to the portal.....

If we lose either Brown or Key, you might as well shut it down, end the FB program.

Seriously though, it would be catastrophic.

Brown yes, key would shock me since he is from Lexington but you never know, the QB from the portal they get in the offseason is crucial
As is whoever the OC is.........Scangerelo just hasn't impressed as a college OC. The pro set scheme just doesn't work well in college. You look at all the top 10 teams, they are some version of the spread/air raid schemes

Remember the game at MO a few years ago that UK won on a final untimed play 15-14? In that game MO had a pretty good QB but they had no first downs from midway in the 2D Q and also none in the entire second half. MO's OC at that time was Huepel. Point is he had a good QB fall in his lap at TN and he's taken advantage of that. Will say however that UK will struggle vs TN as long as Stoops continues to coach/prepare scared vs them.

This. I think Key stays bc he’s a Lexington guy.

I could see brown leaving especially after getting embarrassed in his home state and seeing the gap between where we are and we’re a top 5 team is. Would be easy to see a world where he either returns to Tenn kinda like Wandale did for us. Or he takes a call from OhioState/Bama/UGA bc he sees that as his best chance to win a title and guaranteed national recognition

That is what is most frustrating about this season, for me. We have a QB, with all the tools to make every throw & put up big numbers & is projected as a high first round draft pick. We have, arguably, the best RB in the SEC. We have 3-4 explosive WRs & 2-3 TEs that should be serious weapons in the passing game. I understand that the OL is struggling. But, for the love of god stop calling screens every other play & slow developing pass plays that leave the QB exposed. If the OL doesn’t protect well, call quick hitters & get the ball out of the QB’s hands & at least TRY to keep the defense off balance.

The personnel is there to have a high powered offense that could average 35+ppg. But, we play at the slowest pace in all of P5 football & refuse to use the middle of the field in the passing game. It’s like hooking up thoroughbreds to a horse plow, to use an old adage from the Tubby Smith era. The play calls are extremely predictable & rarely make sense. We’re very sloppy & undisciplined on that side of the ball & NEVER show any urgency to score, regardless of the situation.

There is little doubt in my mind that if an offensive minded HC had this roster we would be a totally different team, that could be near the top of the conference in most offensive categories & in all likelihood be sitting at 7-1 instead of 5-3. The defense has played well enough to win every game that they’ve been given a fair chance, with the exception of last night, possibly. All that offensive talent & in our first two losses we gave up 22 & 24 points, respectively. That should be more than good enough to win, with all the weapons we have, offensively. It’s downright sickening.

It would take a lot for key for leave, and Kentucky should get a decent QB in the portal I expect we will have brown for atleast one more year

Here’s are some facts Mrs.Schwump….
UK has struggled with Tennessee 42 times out of the last 46. The most winning coach in your history is two and 10 against UT — despite UT having absolutely horrible coaches and teams over the last 10 years.
That is a fact.

Fact… Josh Heupel was also the offensive coordinator when The University of Missouri won the SEC East two different times In the first six years that they were in the conference. Vanderbilt and the University of Kentucky have never played in the SEC championship ( from the SEC east ).
You might consider the FACT that CJH developed Hendon Hooker into the quarterback he is today. How do I know that? Because Hendon Hooker has CREDITED CJH ….and regardless of words, he showed it on the field since he had never done much of anything during his stay at Virginia Tech.
He wasn’t even good enough to start last year until three or four games in.
Coach stoops is a good coach… he like Jimbo Fisher, has an offense that is just boring as hell and antiquated. Times have changed. A lot of money for tickets you might as well be entertained with a lot offense. I don’t think it would matter who coaches Kentucky in regard to Tennessee. Just look at the record… that is what history says — even Bear Bryant never beat Gen Neyland .
Start with upgrading UKs schedule. A lot. A whole lot. The cupcakes that are played every year for decades Hurt UKs program, in many many ways.
. I don’t need to quote Bill Parcells again In regard to any teams record.

Either every 4 star or high 3 star recruit or transfer we have just happen to be vastly overrated or the answer is a clear yes. How many fast tempo passing offenses wouldn't like to have our talent at qb, rb, and receivers?
I don't think the problems with our oline are physical. The players don't know how to properly execute the plays. That's coaching.

JH not afraid to sling it. Just builds in to the players confidence.

Post of the season, right here. Perfectly summarizes what's obvious to anyone with half brain, which apparently doesn't encompass our FB coaching staff.

Why don’t you stay on the vol board and post. You think we give a shit what UT jr has done. UK has won some big games and has this program in better shape than it’s ever been. Now go back to your house trailer and celebrate.

It would be crazy how much different it would be he spreads you out and then it’s a numbers game if you put 5 or 6 in the box and cover the pass he runs if you put more than 6 in the box he passes and then he runs hurry up so defense gets confused and don’t have time to think and communicate at the same time you don’t need a good offensive line when running that offense what you need is a good QB

Not true. UGA always runs 2 TE and sometimes 3, neither does Bama.
