Ansley Almonor Quote Post-JST

Give me 5 minutes of Carr at 5, Almonor at the four, with Robinson at the 3, Oweh at the 2, Butler at the 1. See how it works.
I agree. Like you, I’m not sure why Carr and Almonor can’t be on the floor together some.

I can't honestly say I'd trade any one of our players for another player on any team. Yes maybe another player is a little more talented but I still wouldn't trade them.

That's me. These young men are actually glad to be here.

Is Carr still minus at the 5?
Probably. It’s no hate to the kid though. I think he provides great effort. Both he and Almonor rank with lowest defensive rating out of our guys in the rotation. They both rank lower than Perry and that’s saying something, as defensive rating tends to favor bigs over guards.

Worth noting small sample size and therefore numbers should be taken with grain of salt but those two guys would be hard to play together in more than a short spurt

Compare Almonor's attitude to BJ Boston, Kahlil Whitney, Justin Edwards, Chris Livingston and some of the other "I want to get out of Kentucky as quickly as possible" prima donnas that Cal brought here.

Carr guarded Flagg a good chunk of that game so that may hurt his defensive rating a little bit.

I think that’s fair but what do your eyes tell you? Does Carr appear to move quickly going east to west? I definitely don’t want my comments to sound like I’m hating on Carr because he’s actually one of my favorite players — I just don’t expect to see much Almonor with Carr. I actually expect by the end of the season you may see a lot of teams putting Carr in PnR quite a bit, because there aren’t alot of glaring defensive deficiencies around our lineup.
