Ansley Almonor now leads the SEC in 3 point shooting

He has a nice looking shot, really consistent with the way he squares up and his release point. If there's one blessing in disguise to these injuries its experience for the backup guys, might come in handy down the stretch.
I'd been thinking about that; he has a perfect stroke. It looks like they all could go in and he thinks they're all going in and that's a good combination.

He’s admittedly a bit of a limited player, most notably, he doesn’t rebound much at the 4 spot. He sure has managed to maximize what he has though. We don’t win tonight or on the road against Mississippi State without him knocking down some 3s at big moments. He’s proven to be a good under the radar pickup for us.

Check out the photo on this post, very cool shot of Almonor holding the follow through on one of his first half 3s

among players with 15 or more makes, just counting SEC play. He's now a little over 53%.

Perhaps those who wouldn't want him back as a back-up four next year might want to rethink the matter.
I hope its a very small minority that don't want him back. Under current rules, he can't return. But if they change to a 5 seasons in 5 years rule, then he could.

We need Carr back for sure, but what Almonor gives us with Carr out is a legit stretch 4.

With Butler and Carr both out, we see more of Robinson, Brea, and Almonor together, which really stretches the floor and gives Oweh some good one on one matchups.

Butler is a good shooter, percentage wise, but doesn’t shoot a ton from 3. Carr doesn’t shoot much from 3 either, and isn’t that efficient.

But put Robinson, Brea, and Almonor together and you really have to guard that 3 point line.
