Anselem cuts Kentucky from list

He would not have removed us even if he is really favoring another destination . Too much prestige in having a UK offer. UK must have let him know they are going in a different direction. Someone else is on the horizon perhaps in addition to the young man from Evansville.
Nailed it. This guy was Plan C. Thankfully, A and B appear to be coming to fruition.

According to KSR, Frank thought he was a one and done. Not sure where he came up with that one!

yeah I just read that and, well, you see why there‘s a disconnect. He could surprise everyone and be worlds better, but for a guy to be ranked 130 to be thinking “I’m a one and done player” is kinda preposterous.

I think Williams is more wing than big man, from what little I have read/seen. He is listed at 6’9, but just 190 lbs., so he probably won’t bang down low very much.

Our bigs are Sarr, Jackson, and Ware. They will man the 5 spot.

Brooks will man the 4 (which is a wing position most of the time in this day and age), with Williams (if he signs) spelling him.

Ware will back up Brooks, if Williams doesn’t come.

I like the thought of what Williams could potentially do defensively for Kentucky if he comes here. He's pretty fluid for 6'9". I know it might cost guys like Allen or Fletcher a chance to show what they can do in year one, but I like the philosophy of "you take the bet players available and let the cream rise to the top."

Well someone called him out on that and he said it was someone else but yeah idk on that but he did call the Sarr transfer before Sarr or any media member said anything. Lucky or not he did get that right.

He said he's not @z71sab ?

Don't believe it. Either way, whatever. Hope we get this other kid too.

Agreed, glad we passed. Don’t need another mediocre player upset that he’s not a one and done or “didn’t get his chance to prove it.”

All one had to do was read the tea leaves. After reading the Williams article, that @davekersey posted, it was clear to me that if there was high interest on the side of UK, he was a lock to come here. Add to that the tweet from Brooks’ father (as many posters alluded to) and it became even more obvious. Brooks and Williams are buddies.

Now, to Anselem. I knew the second I read what his handler had to say that he was out. I knew Cal wasn’t gonna add that bag full of crazy to the roster. Cal doesn’t play that bullshit, plain and simple. Then I read all the things that @ralphdaltonfan had to say on the subject and it became even more apparent.

I just can’t figure out what in the hell our “insiders” are thinking with some of these “picks” of theirs. I mean they’ve had some serious head scratchers as of late. It’s like they’re just throwing shit against the wall, in hopes something sticks. No disrespect, just calling it like I see it.

Now, that guy, @ralphdaltonfan, is connected in recruiting. It’s obvious he’s more in “the know” than probably any other poster on this board. I can’t recall his backstory, but you can tell he’s around recruiting circles heavily. Either him or someone he’s close to. He’s the go to man for recruiting IMO. I’ve always thought this, since the first time seeing his posts.

If anyone believes this crew "Dropped UK" you also believe that Louisville won't offer at least 5 more guys by Noon tomorrow.

Also--Danny Manning never had a falling out with Cal. He worked with him on that Team USA 19U team and they have a relationship dating back to Cal's time at Kansas. He was very helpful to Cal/Sarr in this process. This is filed under fake BS info that was spewed by those who don't know ala Rod Strickland thing a few weeks back. (Cal is good with Strickland and always was)

This Anselem thing was over once that guy spewed that nonsense. Pilgrim was right to be side eying that--notice the timeline on Williams? Think that was coincidental? And UK still has an open scholarship if needed should players not get waivers.

I never believed the Manning stuff. I do hope Manning can help with the transfer request. I don't think the former school's coach can hurt, but I do think they can help. I don't see how Forbes should be involved at all, but Manning could provide some help in that request in the way Calipari has done for Baker, Green, and, likely, Juzang.

Juzang could be a big piece for UCLA next year now that Nix has moved on to the G League.

What a crap list. If that’s the best he can do, I don’t KENTUCKY was a fit for him.

This is a Kentucky board. We like Kentucky and not other teams

Doesn't mean you can't be objective.

Musselman was an NBA coach for a long time. He turned the Martin twins at Nevada into NBA players and turned a 2* nobody in Mason Jones into an all-american with a shot at the NBA as well. Players at other programs get better too. Josh Allen in football got developed just as fine at Kentucky as he would have if he had went to Alabama.

From reading what one of our recruiting writers said this morning it doesn't sound like we'll take Anselem though, if Isaiah Joe comes back we have no more spots left. Sometimes it seems like we just like being listed on every single transfer just for the exposure lol.

This is made up and not true at all but sold like they have some info. Complete BS.

Anselem camp was delusional about where he was, but it wasn't about 1 and done, it was about what it would take. They were told that UK staff liked his physical/athletic traits and they could develop him. Everyone was on same page initially and then the infamous comments from Smith the jackass who talked *hit about "They have to wait on us......" and "If Haarms went there, Frank was going elsewhere". Let me put it this way, why would this handler do another interview a few days ago as someone else mentioned in other thread about him saying "We knew about Sarr and are fine with it" and then 1 day later move on?

Recruits "eliminating" you publicly is equivalent of a relationship breakup and in this case UK is the party that doesn't care who broke up with who as they just wanted to cut ties. Anyone with a brain can see through it and knows it, but if it makes Smith and Anselem feel better, good for them.

Corey Evans said he’d be shocked if Williams chose UK or Memphis. I hope he’s wrong.

The ONLY reason they would say such a thing is to save face. Be fine with it? You mean, like sitting on the end of the bench? The kid is going nowhere with his shenanigans.

I wouldn’t feel bad if our roster ended here. And who knows maybe a surprise reclass comes along. Now that we have Sarr I think we are in a better spot to land Maker because he knows he won’t be trapped at the 5.

I don't understand Arkansas's involvement with the big men recruits. Musselman will have holdovers Chaney and Henderson as well as redshirt transfers Vanover and Iyiola. That's four frontcourt players right there. Then he went out and got Vance Jackson from New Mexico as a grad transfer and is bringing in 4-star Jaylin Williams. Arkansas seems stacked to me right now with their best collection of talent since the Portis/Qualls team in 2015.

Seriously who in the hell cares? He was ranked #138 by rivals before even reclassifying (the reclass prob makes him a 2 star or lower lol)...we already have two bigs that will be freshman that would TOTALLY LORD over him...add in Sarr, the dude would basically have been a walk on

Yeah I don't either but we're going after transfer guards just as hard it seems like. Maybe he just doesn't ever want a situation like last year where we're starting 4 guards and our starting center is 6'6. Chaney and Henderson probably won't get that much PT and Jackson may play some at the 3. We don't have any real bangers, Vanover is 7'3 but will play more on the perimeter like a Luke Kornet type. He might want a big physical guy who can play inside and outmuscle people. From his days at Nevada he loves guys that are 6'7-6'8 and can play almost any position on the court - he started three 6'7 guys his last year there.

Our 2016-17 team with Barford/Macon/Hannahs/Kingsley that almost knocked off North Carolina in the tournament was pretty good too. That and the Portis/Qualls team are two of our better ones since Nolan which is kinda sad lol.

I thought the HOB experts were saying we'd get him and that Williams was a bad fit?

I wonder if they're just foolin' with us again like they have been over these last two years.

Those guys are funny. Just a bunch of clowns they are - always foolin' us with their intentionally wrong predictions and all.

is Marc Maggard a silent owner of the podcasts?

Yeah Ralph is legit and I “believe” most of his predictions/information etc. He definitely seems to be the most “in the know” guy on this entire board by a long shot.
