Anselem cuts Kentucky from list

He would not have removed us even if he is really favoring another destination . Too much prestige in having a UK offer. UK must have let him know they are going in a different direction. Someone else is on the horizon perhaps in addition to the young man from Evansville.

I thought the HOB experts were saying we'd get him and that Williams was a bad fit?

I wonder if they're just foolin' with us again like they have been over these last two years.

Those guys are funny. Just a bunch of clowns they are - always foolin' us with their intentionally wrong predictions and all.

I honestly think Williams is a fantastic fit--I don't know where he's a "bad" fit. A 6'10 guy that averaged 15 and 7 while shooting 45% from 3--seems like most teams can use that.

Anselem could have been a good longer term prospect if he'd possessed the right attitude. But he clearly thinks he's much farther along than he actually is. And he has a handler that is even worse. So he would have most likely been a team cancer that would have ended up transferring anyway. I'd say we dodged a bullet here. We've got Sarr who filled our needs wonderfully. And if we have another scholly to give, I'd much rather use it on Williams. He'd be an impact guy right from the start.

I agree entirely. Travis and Jack both thought it was a ‘poor fit’ for Williams at Kentucky; however, I believe that was based on the premise that he would not get as many touches as he would elsewhere, and because he would be the second option to Sarr.

Like you, I think he [Williams] would be perfect! He would complement Sarr so well and I think both would only help to amplify their respective strengths.

See ya! I never saw this guy ending up at Uk and honestly don't care that he isn't going to. It always felt like he and his people were talking BS about being patient and he isn't good enough to play for a while. Williams and Sarr and we need 2 waivers, please. Gonna be one hell of a team and Cal will have brought in 10 new guys in one season. Should have 12 guys and 6 will have experience playing college BB, well 5 and Allen practicing with college players. Although Tobin probably redshirts it's still a nice group of experienced players with young talent. Having 2 Top 10 guys in Boston and Clarke with this team if we also get Williams is gonna be problems for the rest of college BB.

I wish we played Dook in the Champions and UNC in the CBS games this coming year. Although it will be fun to flatten KU.

If the kid was smart, he'd want to come here and sit while he develops. Kentucky can turn him into a pro if anyone can. Going to Arkansas isn't going to get him to the NBA.
There you go again, running another program down. Why not just root for Kentucky and stop saying every other program sucks. Crap like this is why Kentucky is hated by most other programs. Every other program does not suck, and every player that goes somewhere other than Kentucky is not ruining their career. This is a guy that Kentucky wanted and people on here were saying he was no good. That was a fine way to recruit someone. I can see why he went somewhere else.

This is a Kentucky board. We like Kentucky and not other teams

Really... you just heard THE COACH, not a fan, but the fvcking COACH run UK down the river.
Spamburger, fans are fans. Wth. Get over yourself.

If anyone believes this crew "Dropped UK" you also believe that Louisville won't offer at least 5 more guys by Noon tomorrow.

Also--Danny Manning never had a falling out with Cal. He worked with him on that Team USA 19U team and they have a relationship dating back to Cal's time at Kansas. He was very helpful to Cal/Sarr in this process. This is filed under fake BS info that was spewed by those who don't know ala Rod Strickland thing a few weeks back. (Cal is good with Strickland and always was)

This Anselem thing was over once that guy spewed that nonsense. Pilgrim was right to be side eying that--notice the timeline on Williams? Think that was coincidental? And UK still has an open scholarship if needed should players not get waivers.

Well looks like next years team is going to have like 10249 big men LOL. But you can't turn down Williams . This time next year he will be in the NBA draft along with Sarr , boston, Clarke ,Brooks and Jackson .

I think Williams is more wing than big man, from what little I have read/seen. He is listed at 6’9, but just 190 lbs., so he probably won’t bang down low very much.

Our bigs are Sarr, Jackson, and Ware. They will man the 5 spot.

Brooks will man the 4 (which is a wing position most of the time in this day and age), with Williams (if he signs) spelling him.

Ware will back up Brooks, if Williams doesn’t come.

Thank God we have you here as our conscience to remind us why WE suck. Although you are quite misinformed. I notice you never commented on the thread where WF's coach ran us down. Go get bent.

Only problem with him sitting and developing is that there may not be a lot left there to develop. He will be 24 before the season starts. If he sits and plays two years before going pro, he would be 27 before his first pro game. I hope Kentucky add him but if I were him I would be doing all I could to get a pro contract somewhere right now.
