Another Dook bust?

5375 points by age 23, I'll not call Kyrie a bust. Geez. Why is he a bust? Injuries?

Kyrie Irving: 4 years, 256 games played = 64 per year
Irving's career line 21.9/5.9/3.7, 45.3% FG

John Wall: 5 years, 345 games played = 69 per year
Wall's career line 17.6/8.7/4.4, 43.1% FG

So, is John Wall a bust?

Thanks for the stats, Chief!

Hey genius- you just named 7 guys over 2 posts of whom 6 had/have good to excellent careers.

Just stop. If you're going to dump on Duke payers, at least pick the right ones. William Avery, Trajan Langdon, Shelden Williams, etc. Not guys who played for a decade or more, made All-Star teams, and so on.

Grant Hill and Elton Brand? You call them busts? Ranked 85th and 89th all time in the NBA in scoring?

J.J. Redick, while still a first rounder, is one of the best shooters in the NBA scoring 16.4 PPG last year. How many other picks outside the top 10 are out of the NBA, let alone putting up those numbers? MKG (#2 overall), just saying...

Shane Battier, 14-year career and won 2 rings and numerous all-defensive teams?

I'll give you Jay Williams, but as you said, injuries.

You're crazy. If these guys are busts, then Ron Mercer, Derek Anderson, Walter McCarty, Antoine Walker, Tony Delk, Jamal Mashburn, Nazr Mohammad and Jamaal Magloire are all busts.

Did the OP seriously just say Grant Hill was a bust? Guy is a 7-time All-Star, should be 8 but was was screwed out of it in 1999. Five-time All-NBA, four on the second team, once on the first team. Finished top 10 in MVP voting five times. Lock to be a Hall of Famer eventually. If not for injuries, he could have had the chance to be in the conversation for one of the 10-20 best players in NBA history.

Cavs don't want to rush him back and there is no reason he should play until after Christmas anyways. Might as well get him completely healthy for the playoffs.

You're not a bad guy, but your take in this thread is. Let this one go and come back with better stuff.

A mercy killing on par with that of Old Yeller.

"Hater's" [sic]? I only see one hater in this thread.

Kyrie Irving a bust? Are you kidding me?! The guy...

Oh.

Okay, you guys got this one already. My bad.

Anyone implying John Wall is a lesser player than Kyrie is a lunatic know-nothing. Kyrie has VERY marginally better shooting statistics, but is about 1/10th of the perimeter defender Wall is. Wall is a top 5 defensive PG in the league, has arguably the best court vision of all PGs, and, along with pre-injury DRose, one of the quickest PGs to ever play in the NBA.

Not being as good as John Wall doesn't label you a bust. Although they are different players, I wouldn't say one is that much better than the other.

I didn't say he was a bust. Just posting the offensive stats of the two (which now that I looked at a little closer even further favor my argument) is misleading and suggests the difference between them isn't as great as it is. Wall is the far superior player and it's not that close.

I can't stand Duke either but the OP is so far off base with his bias opinion it's not funny. Enough have already commented on how wrong he is about Duke players he listed so there's no sense repeating the same stuff over and over. He just doesn't seem to get it anyway.

He's in the league and getting millions.....Can I assume you're surpassing that?
This is the only thing op got right. Austin Rivers would not be on an NBA roster if not for his daddy. Because someone pays you does not necessarily mean you've earned in
