Georgia had a full house for their game against UTM today. (Edit- most of the big football programs across the country had >94% attendance. A couple had 80%+

Our attendance sucked so bad the school didn't even release the numbers to the media. Not looking good for total revenue this year at a time when we need to be more competitive

I thought it looked pretty full on tv. Did I miss something?

It looked pretty sparse during the replay this evening. Didn't look to be more than 50% of the upper deck and tons of empty seats in the lower sections of the stadium.

I've been to games like that. Meh opponent, hot weather... a lot of people linger on the concourses for long periods hydrating and socializing... and now standing in beer lines.

Could be due to the holiday weekend as well

We seem to just have to many fairweather fans or a ton of scalpers. I looked at the tickets on Ticketmaster and it was mostly just people reselling their tickets and not tickets that didn't sell. So maybe a lot of no shows or the scalpers had major losses. It's the same for EKU. A lot of people are trying to resell instead of going. The Akron game actually still has quite a bit of unsold tickets to go with the resell ones. Even the Florida game has a ton of resell tickets on there.

Not a big fan of these early season games. Weak competition in the heat of the day. Will be there next week but even in the low 80’s, it will hot sitting in the sun.

The home side upper level was mostly full, and the other side closer to 75% than 50. The lower bowl was pretty much full. Attendance was probably close to 90%, which isn't bad for a hot noon game against a seriously inferior opponent.

58,266 was the tickets sold (95.5% of capacity). Compares pretty good with the numbers from other games.

One of the weakest opening week slates I can remember. LSU/FSU will be nice tonight, though. South Carolina stinks.

I don't know who media is, but UK site says 58K. Is that releasing to media?

I was there and it was certainly a very near sell out. Only space was very top corner. Very good turnout.

People did get there late. Traffic was nuts due to such a high turnout

Boomers and Millennials were game attendees, Z'ers and X'ers are tied to their phones. I think unless the team is highly competitive my generation the Boomers would prefer to watch flat screen and skip logistics of actually going.

I thought it was 56-58K.

As for “empty spaces,” in areas, there was never a time the concourses weren’t very busy.

The biggest shock to me: I saw at least 6 tiny infants. I’m talking weeks old.

The weak competition is fixable. Start with more SEC games. We choose not to by whining it's too hard.

My buddy and I said the same thing about the babies. We were both questioning why you would bring a baby that young to a football game let alone a football game in the heat there was yesterday. I couldn’t believe it.

And you’re right about the concourse. We had seats in the corner of an end zone with no shade. It felt 20 degrees cooler in the concourse than it did in the seats. People were up there constantly to get a break from the heat.

Thought I read on the Twitter (which is a totally reliable source of information) that there was some trouble with people getting into the stadium and a lot of folks didn't make it in for kickoff

I hadn't heard that. Makes more sense than people not showing up. We sold out our season tickets for the year, so I expected better attendance
