I have been saying, that a team will take Oscar, probably a playoff-team looking for a piece, a specialist, who will get their 3pt shooters more possessions and shots. Because he does something better than anyone we've seen in a couple decades (at least). He won't go to a team hoping to find the next great multi-faceted scorer.

Many on here have been saying that Oscar can't play in today's NBA because he isn't a 3pt shooter. This ignores that many players were not 3pt shooters when they arrived to the NBA, but became one, at least an adequate one. Barkley tops the list, but there are many more. And Oscar's form looks good, I mean it's not like he shoots it like Wheeler.

So while I was looking at Doncic's stats, I noticed all of the PFs and Cs in the stats column too, and their 3pt shooting. It's not like many are shreading the nets!!!
So below is what they (PF or C in top 100 scorers) are averaging per game (3's made - 3's attempted, %):
C 1.1-3.2, 33.8%
PF 0.8-3.1, 25.3%
PF 1.8-4.8, 37.3%
PF 0.4-1.2, 29%
PF 1.4-4.2, 33.7%
C 0.8-2.4, 33.8%
PF 0.2-0.7, 33.3%
PF 2.5-7.2, 34.1%
PF 3.0-6.8, 43.4%
C 1.8-5.4, 33.3%
PF 1.3-4.0, 31.5%
C 0.0-0.3, 10%
PF 0.5-1.2, 38.5%
C 0.2-0.5, 35.3%
PF 1.0-2.7, 39%
C 1.7-4.6, 36.8%
PF 2.1-5.4, 39.5%
C 1.6-3.8, 40.5%
C 2.1-5.2, 40.1%
PF 1.9-5.5, 33.7%
C 0.9-1.9, 36.4%
PF 0.3-1.1, 22.5%
C 0.2-0.8, 20.8%
C 0.0-0.1, 0%
C 0.7-1.8, 36.1%
C 0.0-0.1, 0%
PF 1.5-3.6, 43%
And these are the Bigs that score, I imagine the Bigs that don't score are even worse at making 3's, else they would be scoring more.

There are only 12 making 35+%. There are 6 making <26%, 7 making <30%.
There are only 4 making 2+ per game; only 14 making 1+ per game, there are 9 making <0.5 per game.
Out of I think 30 teams!

I'm sure some will say, yeah but they can draw their guy out on the perimeter opening up the lane for drives. Oscar can do that out to 18-19' now, that's far enough, and no reason he can't increase that distance. Also some of those guys above ain't drawing any defender outside to guard them.
So are over half of the top scoring big men in the NBA going to lose their jobs this summer? No!

Oscar needs a few things to work. Passing out of the post ( he is not doing well passing out of the post) because the NBA thrives on spacing and shooting, lateral quickness, and jump shooting.

He improves in those areas and he will do well in the NBA

I haven't seen anyone say that Oscar can't play in the NBA. Oscar is not a first round pick. Oscar is not a star in the NBA. But Oscar is going to have a very long NBA career. Every team can use an Oscar.

Oscar is the next coming of Kenneth Faried. Faried couldn't stay healthy. Oscar is a rebounding energy guy. His defense is suspect. Much like Nazr he will be a career NBA player. He will make millions and millions. His endorsements will probably dwarf his salary.

How tall were those Centers who can't shoot 3's? Oscar is only 6'8''. There are wings in the NBA at 6' 8''. He may make a team, but his skillset at 6' 8'' isn't what the NBA is looking for with their draft picks.

And there are PF's who are 6'6 & 6'7, so what. Our own Chuck Hayes was a backup C/PF for over a decade at 6'5.

But to answer your question to that specific list.
C's: 6'9, 6'11, 6'11, 7'1, 6'9 were the worst shooters. Yep, 2 of them have 1 whole inch on Oscar.
PF's: 6'11, 6'10, 6'6, 6'11

AND, I would put Oscar as a BETTER REBOUNDER than at least 90% of that list.
Yes, he needs to improve some easy to fix things (passing, pick & roll).

You are right that his skillset is not what NBA teams are looking for with their lottery picks. But late in first round either you are taking a flyer on a long-term long-shot, or you are taking a role-player who can help you now. And I still say a playoff team picking in the 24-30 range, needing that one piece (a physical rebounder) will take him.

I'll go ahead and say it, his supporting cast has more to do with how he performs.

If he gets drafted early in the nba, he might make a team that lets him be the go to guy.

Otherwise, It seems like this years team is more talented but he does not have the same game like last year at times.

Oscar, is not the same player he was last year.
I don't know if it's the knee not fully healed. If the NPOY went to his head. Looks to be more Me than team this year.

I was literally just saying this!!! Last year when the ball hit Oscar's hands it stayed there. This year he hasn't done well holding on to it. He also is looking to score every time he touches the ball, even when all 5 defenders are in the paint with him. He needs to study some Eric Daniels interior passing.

100% this. His passing out of the post is below average.

Fareid was also an elite finisher with top level athleticism.

I don’t see Oscar in the NBA. He might be able to grab a bench spot, but that would it.

This is my take exactly. He hasn’t recovered from his surgery. Watch him jump, his vertical is much less than last year.

Imagine Oscar guarding Andrew Wiggins on the perimeter? Lol
