Andy Buh was officially hired today by UK, and will fill the roles of outside linebacker coach, and will be responsible for coaching and developing kickoff and punt teams, and other UK coaches will also take on responsibilities in the special teams department. Kentucky will not designate a "Special Teams Coordinator"
Derrick Ansley will now coach the entire secondary with Mark Stoops.

Buh served as California's defensive coordinator and linebackers coach
in 2013, but was demoted after one season in the job. Buh was originally
set to serve as a position coach on California's 2014 staff but was
later removed from the on-field staff all together. He previously held
full-time assistant jobs at Wisconsin (linebackers coach), Nevada
(defensive coordinator, defensive backs/special teams coach), Stanford
(linebackers coach, co-defensive coordinator), and San Diego State
(linebackers coach)

He has a lot of experience in developing linebackers and has had a successful career in many successful programs.
My understanding is that he has recruiting connections in JUCO, and Pac-12 country (west coast).

Glad they hired someone. I kinda wish they had hired him a few weeks ago and maybe he could have helped sway a recruit or 2 to come with him.

Chuck Smith was excellent with UK's linebackers. If only he could recruit......

Congrats to Coach Buh and CMS. It never hurts to have a guy that's had a lot of experience all over the defense and apparently CMS has seen something in Buh that he likes and thinks will help our program. I like the hire and the all men aboard on the special teams thing. Maybe with everybody helping to coach em up we can get our ST problems ironed out.

ST will be the difference in at least a couple games every year so we have to play these SEC teams at the very least even in that dept. and if we can get the advantage it will help us pull out some of these upsets that we're gonna need this season. Welcome to the BBN Coach Buh.

If we could pluck a few goes from the West Coast that couldn't hurt. If we're able to keep a core of Kentucky/Ohio and then get a few from DC area, Georgia, Florida, Texas and California/West Coast we'd be doing alright.

Very disappointing hire. I hope it works out but I fail to see any reason to hire him. UK is unlikely to recruit good talent from the west coast and I believe we need a special team coach. This has been a very disappointing few months for UKFB.
