Andrew Harrison Chooses D-League

A UNC troll makes a sarcastic post mocking Cal, and you reinforce his point?

Or did you not realize that he is this board biggest UNC troll?

Exactly, we have people on this board that don't get the big pictures.

1) Players get better riding the bench in NBA and playing in D-league...period
2) Dakari was never going to be a lottery pick, he went this year the same area as he would have went the next year. Same with twins, neither would ever be a lock first-round. So it's better for them to try to make a team or go play overseas and make a great living for 10 years.

For you second-guessing decisions, just stop it. Trust me, they had more information about their decisions than anyone on this board can provide and made it for the right reasons.
Not necessarily riding the bench will make him better but playing D League will. It's why Andrew made the right decision to go to D League, he would have been the 3/4 guard on the roster and wouldn't play. This allows him to maintain his draft rights to Memphis if he wants and to get more playing time. If you ever get a chance to watch a D League game, I highly suggest it. I've been to many and they are fun to go to.

I don't really get why Andrew is having such a hard time getting a shot in the league. He is a strong 6'6 point guard that plays physical and has good range on his shot. Nobody mentions it, but he shot close to 40% from deep last year. If I were running a team, I would love to have a guy like that on a second rounder's salary practicing everyday and learning from the bench for a few years.

I've watched several when they were televised; you are right - they ARE fun. You still have a lot of college mentality in those games, with some NBA aspects. Interesting mix. I've always enjoyed them. Plus - the NBDL isn't what it used to be; it's a valid program for those not quite ready to play in the NBA - they learn and move up. If they can't ever cut it in the NBA, it's still playing ball and getting paid (albeit much less)

i just googled to see what the Twins and Dakari would make this season. It is unbelievable how little these guys make. There are 3 tiers to the D league salaries which are 13K/19K/25k. The salary cap for the whole team is 170,000.
Those numbers are below the poverty line. They need to really impress or they will be in the real work force like the rest of us.

Yeah, its stupid low. Most of the D-leaguers pass up more money Overseas for a chance at sniffing their dream. Andrew & Dakari will likely take this route if they don't make it in 2-3 yrs.

While the pay sucks, getting a few 10-day call ups can change that a bit. it ranges from $25k - $50k for 10-days, which can be handed out only two times to a certain player.

Those salaries are only if they are cut by the NBA teams. If they are assigned to the D League by a team, the salaries are much higher or part of their original contract.

If they get cut, then yes, they would need a second job.

Not surprising. 5starrecruit has been taking shots at the twins since their freshman year, and will likely only let up when they're dead and buried.

He showed up on this board the day after we lost to Florida last year. IIRC, his first avatar was of Andrew Harrison.

I remember it, because at first I thought he was a Harrison fan, then was surprised by his bashing. Pretty used to it by now.

U should know I'm a Aaron Harrison fan. Thats my guy.

Andrew on the other hand… hard to watch him run the point for extended periods of time.

+ I didn't know he was a UNC troll.

Vs our rival, fanbase is LIT, Poythress destroyed the rim here + the RAW emotions on both of their faces. Epic pic.

Mainly because how hyped i was after watching Poy destroy the rim + the raw emotions on both of their faces.

That's probably it. For a while I thought you were a fake Andrew fan who signed up to trash him. Thought maybe he went out with your girlfriend or something.

It's not a mistake if your stock is not going to improve. There was no way either twins stock was moving up. In fact the more they played in college the more obvious it was that they were not NBA level athletes. Dakari probably could have gotten better with more PT at Kentucky, but he can get better in the D-League too. I see the twins as foreign pros or as injury fill-ins. Dakari will probably get a shot to contribute some day due to his size.
