All the focus on who we didn't have. Lets talk about this guy we do have playing, but not playing well.

Yesterday, because of foul trouble he logged only 16 minutes, scored 6 points and only grabbed 1 rebound. 1 rebound. Talk about unacceptable(could lead one to believe that his back is not well and hes playing through it because of our other injuries)

Since the TAMU game back on 1/14 he has only scored double digits in 1 game. A 10-pt effort against Ole Miss.

In that time frame he has played 7 games, scored 34 points on 10-24 overall shooting. In that he is only 2 for 8 from 3.

He's averaging 4.9 pts, 2.1 rebounds, and not even 1 assist while shooting 42% FG and 25% from 3.

Before 1/15 Carr was averaging 11.4 ppg, 5.8 rebounds, and 2.4 assists. A lot better than the 4.9/2.1 he's given us the last 7 games.

We need more from the Andrew Carr of the last 7 games. Those stats dont cut it from an SEC starter at the 4.

He's a 7 ft guard basically. He will score inside if he gets a mismatch but that's about it. He's not physical and doesn't give us hardly any rebounding which we need the most.

His back won’t let him give you more. He probably should not be playing, period. I give him props for trying, but Coach has to decide how much he can help us.

At this point, let Almonor and Noah take most of these minutes between the 3 and 4 and just use Carr in spurts when he can get mismatches in the paint. Allowing him to roam around on the perimeter and hoist up clanked 3's is in NO WAY helping. I would rather have Alminor and Noah out there. Noah and Alminor are better rebounders and shooters.

Carr is a shell of what he was the first month of the season. His inability to give us big minutes has made the injuries to Butler, Robinson and even Kerr even worse.

It doesn't look like he is getting any better either, which is even MORE disheartening.

Carr is not the starter. Almonor is, but he can't play 40 minutes. Since Robinson has been out, Brea is starting and Noah is filling in at both wing positions (and may be a starter after Brea's near goose egg yesterday in 35 minutes of play). Short story, there is nobody else to back up Almonor and Carr is toughing it out. He went three weeks without practicing and is still wearing a back brace, but you want him to play like he did against Duke. Obviously, you have never had back spasms. Many folks can't get out of bed and Carr is banging with elite athletes in the best conference in America. Carr would be the first to tell you that he is way less than 100%.

Considering I broke my back on 08' and spent the next 7 years in a wheelchair, I think he looked like he was moving pretty well. (not sarcasm!lol) I'm just glad to be walking again. But I took it a lot further and lost 168 lbs and became half the man I used to be!

I just hope he doesn't have to take it as far as I did !

Here's to Carr getting back to being as healthy as he can be and getting into the flow and rhythm of the game once again. I am sure he will, sometimes it takes time to shake off the rust from injuries.

It did for me.

We definitely need more from him and when he plays good we look so much better, if he could give us 10 points and 5-6 boards a game then it doesn’t matter if butler & Robinson are out for some time. But every time I see him, he’s falling down or on the floor seems like. I know he’s giving what he can but his lack of production has really hurt this team.

The play where he hit the floor and got up dribbling the ball showed me he is now healthy; he just needs to regain his shooting form.

Glad to see you recover . Salute to you

Quite a feat to walk again after that long in a wheelchair. My hat's off to you. Also, I'm half the man I used to be and I started out skinny. lol

I don’t get this take. Carr isn’t the most physical player but a guy who is playing with the injuries he has isn’t soft.

Again, we see those kind of comments from people who have probably never had a major injury. Back issues SUCK. I tweaked my sinister latissimus dorsi moving a beam once. I though someone shot me, it hurt that bad. Every breath was like a knife stab.

Back injuries keep you from being a shell of your former self no matter what sport. I am sure he is doing what he can but he looks totally immobile to me. He is trying and that is all you can ask for. Injuries have ruined what could have been a Cinderella season.

At this point we just need a body almost to play. I don't ever recall anything as damaging in breadth as these injuries. I guess Garrison could play PF if Williams can go 30 minutes or more. Asking Noah or Oweh (both of whom I'm more than happy with playing SF) to play PF would make UK look like a Div. II team at best. And it's not even like our injuries are ankle sprains that might take a week or maybe two but can be recovered from in the same season. No, we have the luck to have guys with injuries that apparently will take an offseason to recover from, maybe needing surgery or some kind of long-term therapy program (backs are such an unpredictable b***h to overcome). Really frustrating, because without the injuries this year's squad was good enough to beat anybody - without it being flukey - and be one of the favorites for a Final 4.

Carr was terrible yesterday. I guess we have to play him some minutes, but I'd minimize them absent a significant improvement in his back. He's really not a stretch 4 at 25% from three. Probably better feeding him in the post as the 5.

But he hasn't been starting and is playing limited mins.
He's clearly still hurt.

Carr was out top 2-3 players early in season….since the back injury and coming back…he’s been awful. So I csn only argue he’s playing hurt which is limiting his game

But I will say this…he’s been really bad from deep all year …so that part isn’t his back…he’s had a poor shooting from deep
You’re right, Carr’s job was to be an inside scoring presence and he did it well until the back problems. I don’ know why some on here want to give him grief. Evidently CMP believes playing him is better than the alternative.

Your last sentence sums up everything there is to say about the team .

And you just know that d*mn back issue is impacting his shot as well, right? I actually think I see a difference in Carr's shot in the sense of a stiffer posture when shooting. The back is the base on which the rest of the body's macro-movements depend. And even if back pain is not immediately impacting a particular movement, the fear in the back of the mind often restricts movement almost subconsciously.

Exactly...you've hit the mental aspect perfectly. As someone who's dealt w/ back issues for decades, even when you're "healthy", your subconscious is loathe to let you play w/ the reckless abandon that's needed at times

I would like to see these people that run down the players and coaches and can't say anything positive or constructive, to step out there and show how tough they are on the court. Or just coach them to wins every.single.game.

Because apparently, nothing short of superman playing for Kentucky would do ( watch them complain when a team has kryptonite laced uniforms )

I definitely think his back is really bothering him. He is a shell of himself from first part of the year.

I would venture to say that he’s making more money this year than you have ever made in year. He’s also a grown ass man. It’s completely fair to criticize guys in this NIL era. Carr, at present, is 🗑️ .
