And so it begins: 3 # star OL commit flips from us to Clemson. Tucker Kattus

You're both right. Some people want the program to crash and burn so they can say, 'I told you so' and be happy about that. Some people believe the program plateaued a few years ago and Stoops' and staff's performance has slipped badly the past 3 years. This year it's hard to make the case that any position group excelled and got better as the season wore on (with, presumably, more coaching occurring each week). For all the grief Hamdan has rightfully received, White's defense slipped badly this season as it went on and the defense was supposed to be a strength and potentially an above average SEC defense. They were not.

I've been a long time fan and truly believed we'd seen the last of the really bad years once we won 10 games twice in just a few years. I really thought Stoops and the program had turned the corner. Now, I discover that was fool's gold. We're not only quickly going in reverse, we may end up lower than the worst of the Curry/Joker 'eras'. And that's saying something.

I want the program to do well. My expectations have always been sort of the SEC's answer to Iowa. Probably not going to win the conference or the CFP, but consistently win 7-9 games with outliers both positive and negative every 7-10 years. I thought we were there. We are not. No telling what the roster will look like next year but the schedule is just as brutal so we could be looking at another 3-4 win season. That's hard to stomach for me as I've seen dozens of years over my 54 years of following the team just like that. I don't have the patience any longer for 'building a program takes time'. If this all falls apart this offseason, I may become a VERY casual UKFB fan and watch more of good games between 2 good teams that I have little rooting/emotional interest in.
Yeah, I'm pretty much with you. But for me, I'm 77 years old...I mean, how many 4-8 seasons do I have left? I'm in reasonably good health(knock on wood) but one never know when one gets called to that Great End Zone in the sky.

Everyone needs to take a step back from the ledge at least for the moment. These kids at least most are getting paid some big dollars to play for KY. Most aren’t leaving to take pay cuts unless the team is so toxic they just want out. As bad as most of the team played all season can’t imagine to many takers for the services of some undisciplined and lazy over priced talent.

You need to take a chill pill.
I have NEVER SAID I WANTED TO BURN THIS PROGRAM TO THE GROUND.

Read what you quote, before you post.

I AM a faithful supporter of UK football for over 60 years, through thick and thin, good and bad, so I do not want to see the AD stand idly by and allow a lame duck coach who hasn't given a $hit about this team since he has had to deal with his own personal problems, burn it down like Cal did the basketball program.

If you can't see that the program is almost rock bottom

Oh, it's not even CLOSE to rock bottom, and if you were a 60 yr supporter, you'd know that.

and still falling ( thank God for Ms. ST.) under CMS, I don't know what you are watching.

"Rock bottom" means you absolutely can't go any further. At least you're admitting how unhinged and irrational you are with this beyond hyperbole rhetoric.

And to come out and boast that he is coming back

Lol! Last year it was "omg, he betrayed everyone by talking to A&M!" and now it's "how dare he "boast" that he is coming back" to the job. Do you even listen to yourselves anymore? Lmao

and he is also keeping his OC that couldn't score 20 points a game if his life depended on it.

Whoopee. Let's all get excited for another year or two of this dumpster fire.

Yall weren't happy with "boring" victories running the football and playing solid D. Across the boards complaints non stop through 2 separate 10 win campaigns. However bad this gets trying to directly compete for recruits with Alabama and Georgia and 10 other blue blood programs that run pass-dependent offenses, the "fans" deserve it.

Yall wanted this hole dug and begged the staff to crawl into it. Your own worst enemies

Agreed. Some also think its fixable. I'm waiting hear that Coach Stoops stepled up and apologized to his TEAM for how things have been handled, and say exactly how thats going to be fixed. If that doesnt happen, next year will be his last season regardless of buyout, imo.

Don't know if he has the ability to step up like that. We'll see.

This year it's hard to make the case that any position group excelled and got better as the season wore on (with, presumably, more coaching occurring each week).

Agreed

For all the grief Hamdan has rightfully received, White's defense slipped badly this season as it went on and the defense was supposed to be a strength and potentially an above average SEC defense. They were not.

Injuries (causing lack of depth) and a really bad offense and poor offensive decision making killed our defense.

I've been a long time fan and truly believed we'd seen the last of the really bad years once we won 10 games twice in just a few years.

A lot of fans that don't follow morr college football than UK think like this. Bad years happen to some really good coaches, especially when they coach programs that aren't top tier in money and recruiting. It's worse at stepping stone programs. It'll happen again, even if we win 9-10 games next season, or the season after. There's never a guarantee that you won't drop below the new floor you set. Never

It's already happening and UK fans are pushing it over the edge while the staff is trying to course correct. It's their choice

I may become a VERY casual UKFB fan and watch more of good games between 2 good teams that I have little rooting/emotional interest in.

Same. Except I may just not bother with UK football. The fans just don't get it. I haven't been here as long as the football guys I talk to, but I NOW understand why they no longer get on the boards and try to reason with the "fans" who think it's somehow like basketball. It's like trying to convince a drunk person about them being drunk.

Wish yall the best

Lol. I love your "read what you quote before you post" comment. And then you go on an unhinged rant about me saying the program was on rock bottom. Lol.

What part of "almost on rock bottom" do you not undrrstand???

And furthermore, I have not only been happy with EVERY one point victory by UK, I have been thrilled for every win by my Cats even though they have been fewer than I would have liked.

And, if you think I wanted to see the UK FB program fall into this hole that CMS has dug, you are the one who is acting unhinged and irrational. Your words. Not mine.

Your hyperbole is driven by reading hundreds of different posts from dozens of different posters and then lumping everyone into one big group of "haters" which is as unhinged and irrational as a person can get.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, whether you agree with them or not, but you get personal and start name calling and resort to gaslighting UK fans who only want the best for our Alma Mater in all sports.

If a UK fan declares their desire for a better team on a message board upsets you so much, why do you come here and read them?

That's why fans are called fans. Do you even know what word " fans" is derived from??

You are one more crazy rant against one of my posts from going on ignore. Have a nice day.

I have been a big supporter of stoops his entire tenure end appreciate everything he has done for the program. But this year was a complete coaching failure on so many levels. This is the most inept offense I have seen in a very long time. The oline had no clue who they should have been blocking on over half the offensive snaps. That is coaching. The offensive play calling was horrendous....I mean wtf. Yet he is retaining both of those coaches. Every position group appeared to regress as the season went on, not get better. That's not a talent issue. That's a coaching issue and it seemed as if the players just gave up halfway through the season . The team was so undisciplined. The most disappointing year being a UK football fan that i have ever had. There have been worse years but those were expected to be bad years . This year I thought this team had potential to win at least 9 games...missed that Mark by quite a bit. Oline coach and oc need to go. Wide receivers coach needs to go. And stoops need to let the next oc do his damn job. The most frustrating thing is stoops is making the same mistakes in year 12 that he made in year 1.

Excellent post. Well said. I think you articulated the feelings of the majority of UK fans concerning CMS and the state of the program based on the results on the field. Especially this year. I had ( too ) high expectations for this team, based on the amount of talent returning and buying in to what the coaches were telling us about this team.

Total systems failure and that falls at the HC feet.
