I thought the move was good. The fake baby scene was interesting, he was making the babies arm move and all. Clint Eastwood does it again.
I love how some people are willing to go to extraordinary lengths to discredit the movie. It's a movie, not a documentary. It shouldn't come as a shock that some of it isn't 100% accurate and the folks who wrote the screenplay to some artistic license.
Black Hawk Down, Saving Private Ryan, Lone Survivor.......none of those movies are 100% accurate. They are movies.

Hinson, nearly sixty years of age, alone, and without formal military training, soon became a deadly threat to the Union. A
Confederate sniper, he made history after single-handedly bringing down an armed Union transport and serving as a scout for Nathan Bedford Forrest. A tenacious and elusive figure, Hinson likely killed more than one hundred Union soldiers, recording the confirmed deaths on the barrel of his rifle with precision.
Despite the numbers of men sent to kill him, Hinson evaded all capture, and like his footsteps through the Kentucky and Tennessee underbrush, his story has been shrouded in silence--until now.

Jesse Ventura is not suing Chris Kyle's estate for further damages, that was a lie made up by people who are afraid of the truth and call everyone who disagrees with them a liberal. Chris Kyle lied, said he knocked Ventura and accused Ventura of treason. Ventura is a former Navy SEAL and takes things like that very seriously. He wanted to clear his name so he offered to let Kyle publicly apologize and admit that he lied, he refused, Jesse Ventura sued him for defamation. Kyle was murdered in the middle of the trial so the judge allowed the trial to go on and made his estate responsible for the damages. Ventura won the lawsuit and was awarded $1.8 million. He is not suing for further damages.

Just got back from watching it, and yes, the movie is superb. At the end, as others have said, everyone was very quiet in the theater, with the exception of an elderly lady who was sitting alone a few seats down from me; she was crying.
When the credits began, everyone began applauding.

Chris Kyle shouldn't have lied, defamed Ventura, or accused him of treason. He was trying clear his name, dropping the lawsuit doesn't accomplish that.
Other than Michael Moore's comments of which I've not seen anyone agreeing, the only "controversy" that has been discussed is whether or not we should have even been in Iraq in the first place. It was 9/11 that inspired Kyle to enlist yet all of his tours of duty were in a place that had nothing to do with that event.

Hollywood sucks at accuracy in bio or real event movies, which makes the whining and parsing about this one so obviously agenda-driven. They want no movies about a 4 tour Navy Seal and more like Tangerine...a movie about a transvestite prostitute shot entirely on an Iphone. Sundance is abuzz about that one.
More palatable
Seth Rogen compared it to a scene from 'inglorious basterds' and said it was a really good movie. What an asshole!

It was a very good movie.
Liberal ideas really seem to be working real well with the US foreign policy right now. ISIS is running rampant in countries, raping, beheading, burning, meanwhile President Obama thinks climate change is the greatest threat we face. Total clown for a president.
Just saw it. Great movie... which means I feel like I got my money's worth for the ticket price.
BTW, it seems Rogen's comment was comparing QT's fictional Nazi propaganda movie, that was featured within Tarantino's film, to American Sniper... so, Seth was intentionally trying to start some ish, or he's an idiot... or both.
