They weren't?Pretty good I thought.
Makes the Mormons look terrible
I dont know much about Mormon history other than their absurd founding. I mostly just know present day Mormons and well, they're overly nice ppl. They weren't?
The show is based around the Mountain Meadows massacre and is said to be a historically accurate portrayal.I’ve watched 3 episodes, I think it’s pretty good. The topic of how the Mormons came to settle there is not one I’ve seen in a film so it’s interesting. I don’t know how accurate.
Being honest about the sheer brutality of the frontier is what makes it strong IMO.
I think the massacre was pretty spot on historically. It's okay. I think someone must have paid for all the gushing reviews. Takes some liberties with history. Makes the Mormons look pretty bad. Makes the natives look not so great. Lots of blood, bit of rape, predictable plotline. Having a female Shoshoni chief was fairly ridiculous as well.
On the plus side Betty Gilpin is a great actress.
No woman was officially ever chief of a major native tribe until recently when Wilma Mankiller was elected chief of the Cherokees.Have no idea if a Shoshoni female chief is plausible
I believe Bridger was also allegedly in the group when Hugh Glass was attacked by a bear (The Revenant)I think the massacre was pretty spot on historically.
Of course BY denied any involvement and was never implicated.
At least two Mormons were executed for their role in the attack.
The fort was real and was burned.
Jim Hickman was real so was Bridger.
Have no idea if a Shoshoni female chief is plausible
The best of the Yellowstone saga's in my opinionThe show is based around the Mountain Meadows massacre and is said to be a historically accurate portrayal.
Any fans of 1883 should like this show.
Shouldn’t have dealt him a fatal blow to the chestPeter Berg is said to be mulling the idea of a prequel centered around the character Isaac.
A very fine actress indeed! On the plus side Betty Gilpin is a great actress.
Ending pissed me off. Was glad the couple shot each other though.Anyone watch it yet? Thoughts? I finished it today.
agree on the ending. I told my wife. Lucas is still in the woods. And sure enough there he was.I thought it was great but the last episode felt manipulated to achieve a certain result.
Somehow in the random attack on the cabin the lady gets snatched and the incredible survivalist cant track her in the snow so he beats info out of a man.
Then he finds the bounty hunters and kills them all, inexplicably leaving the brother alive, which of course led to his demise. At no point in that entire series would that character have ever left that guy alive other than to manufacture that ending.
Otherwise it was great.
