Amari Williams goes left EVERY time

I love Amari, but he's so obvious to scout. I just rewatched the Duke game. His over reliance on his strong hand does concern me, and any good team will shut that down. Any thoughts or concerns? Go Cats!!

True, but the question is…does he do that because he cannot go right or because the defender isn’t playing him properly?


Hopefully it’s the latter, and when a defender overplays his left hand, he puts a drop step on him, and goes down the lane, and drops the hammer on the help defender for an and-1!

Get good at scoring going left first then maybe we can work on the right. However what he did was physically punish every defender that tried to stop him going to his strength regardless how efficient he was at scoring.

The benefit of him doing that even though it was frustrating to watch is that Andrew Carr took over in the second half down low when the defense legs were drained from guarding him.

Amari could be playing football, rugby for UK with his body and toughness. lol

He is limited on his offense. He will not be the key to most teams defensive stops on us. He just needs to keep doing what he is doing, Make ugly shots, rebound, punish with his body. He is confident in his ability (maybe too confident on some of those takes against Duke) but he makes up for it with all the other stuff he does.

Yes, but he did get 12 attempts against Duke, WHY????

Coach Pope made the switch to Carr in the Post because Duke had figured out that Williams could only go left.

I have no doubt that from this point forward, Coach Pope will figure out a way to get around it.
