He will be the man next week. Maybe we boost his confidence through showing him luv. I'm not ready to rip him yet because I seen alot of up close shots miss this weekend in alot of games.
I definitely yelled at him to dunk it last night and said "that's not your shot" a couple times too. But, his production is undeniable. Love that dude. Hoping we see him peak again before the season closes.

He needs to score on dunks and let Carr post up a lot more inside. Williams is great defending the rim, rebounding and passing but we need the best shooters taking the shots if we want to keep going.
Trouble is he uses the backboard for his attempted dunks.....

Amari has overachieved. He has worked his tail off and Pope and staff have squeezed everything out of him they can. He does not have elite talent but he affects the game at an elite level. Yes, of course, his turnovers are frustrating but he has the ball at a great rate. Also, he is doing this without being a three point threat or really being a scoring option. I love Amari. He will always be a Cat.
If I was that tall, I’d be trying to dunk everything but he plays like a 6’0 guard at times. Maybe he’s nervous but those are points that could be a huge difference come this Friday.
He's the best Center in the tournament. He dominated Broome in the head-to-head matchup. He has cut down on his turnovers since the start of the season. Hopefully he has all of those missed layups out of his system for the remainder of the tournament.
It really is wild. Might be the most unique player we’ve ever had in terms of style of play and wild swings of consistency.

I get it...the last 2 games he has missed some bunnies vs. dunking it but....
1. He's been our best player down the stretch of season IMO.
2. His post game down the stretch....He's been man handling guys in the post....backing them down and shooting right over kids

3. But Amari's defense in the paint has been stellar......3 blocks, 10 boards....he owned the paint vs. Illini.
4. His passing is crazy good.....he hits the cutter a ton better than Garrison
Finally, the steals/slams on break....he's talented dude for a man that size. I still feel like our lineup of Butler, Brea, Oweh, Carr and Amari is as a top handful of starting fives left in this tournament.
Honestly, I would prefer a shot from anyone else from anywhere on the court versus a 5 footer or layup from Amari or Garrison.
I feel that way with him and Oweh. I love both of them but they scare the piss out of me going to the hoop (even though Owen almost always gets it if he doesn’t get cutesy).

No, the problem is with a 7-foot lazy ass who on most days would almost rather do anything but jump. The one who routinely miss shots that couldn't possibly be taken any closer to the goal. If you don't find yourself at times wanting to smack Williams to wake him up, you must love watching uninspired player performance.

Amari listened to me last game, I said dunk the damn ball and he proceeded to steal it and run coast to coast for a dunk.
He’s really unique but his skill set is unbelievable. If he played defense a little more active with his arms up and learned some touch around the basket he would be ridiculous. He has the size, speed, and handle. His passing is next level.
If he had any sort of legit offensive game he’d be a draft pick.
Honestly this team is starting to remind me of 1998 Cats. They seem locked in and really close. Just a collection of really solid players giving it their all.
No doubt, I wouldn’t be surprised to see a team take a shot at him and a couple years of Pro skill work see him be a player in the league, he will definitely play overseas at worst.
