Always always always

Glad he is here because he isn’t Cal.

I like the fact that he bleeds blue and he is very enthusiastic and encouraging. I am obviously not known as an encouraging sort of poster on this board, but I do love coaches who use positive reinforcement rather than negative.

The thing I dislike the most about his coaching so far is that it’s not very situational. As has been pointed out ad nauseam, we should never be coming out of media timeouts without Butler on the court. He did that again tonight and Tennessee got right back into the game. Hopefully he’ll improve in this area, but he seems to stubbornly have certain things in his mind that he runs with regardless of the situation.

The injuries have really put him behind the 8 ball this season.trying game planning not knowing who can play till game time ,having all of your best rotations constantly being broken by injuries. I think Pope has juggled these decisions masterfully. A truly masterful coaching job this season.

I get what you are saying, it frustrates me too at times. He's lineups are pretty whack. I think Pope is like a good poker player though. Good poker players know the odds and play them, understanding that you will lose sometimes, but if you stick to the strategy, you will come out ahead. Notice however I said a "good" poker player. A "great" poker player is also able to read his opponents and make situational judgment calls in the moment to get even further ahead. Pope is still relatively new as a coach. I think he has a lot of room to grow and I believe he will! He's the type of guy that craves learning, growing, and improving. I don't think we are even close to peak coach Pope yet.

Pope has done really well. His lineups are wonk6 for sure but I think he’s working with what he’s got. But yeah sometimes he leaves dudes in too long.

He needs to win a NCAAT game and get that major monkey off his back and then I think YR2 will be the year where we truly see what he can do.
