Alvaro Folgueiras

Don't think Dylan with 195 people following him has the scoop no one else has..... just saying.

As per MeManMarcMaggardBoy.... he is full of it and no longer has connections
I wonder if other universities also have the amount of "wannabe" insiders like Kentucky has? There are countless X and Instagram accounts on my feeds constantly.

I have to admit I'm anxious about Folgueiras. I want to see that commitment sooner rather than later. If UK lands him, I'll feel good about the team next season even if they get no one else (although, unless Kam Williams is the 2nd unit PF, I'd like another PF at least). Impatient, I know. But with back up options moving off the board, I'm getting a little antsy.

Folgueiras and Rasheer Fleming were the guys that I identified about half-way through the season as the ones I hoped UK would get at the PF spot next season; and later Lendeborg. There were 2 or 3 others - all good options - but really Folgueiras was maybe my favorite that was likely to return for another season. I was even a little worried UK would get a commitment from Caleb Wilson and maybe cause UK to lose out on one of these PFs who I thought would all be better than Wilson next season (and then he probably ends up entering the draft anyway and that potential that might be reached in a 2nd season is lost). Anyway, give me Folgueiras (preferably) or another top notch stretch 4 and I'll sleep easy.

At one point that was Matt Jones and now he is the most beloved radio personality since Ralph Hacker.

How does UK avoid a “bidding war” for this guy? I have seen NOTHING to suggest UK can/ will land this dude, if that becomes the case!

Same narrative in every one of your posts and that’s money. If you can link articles to what happened in negotiations with Dent and Yaxel someone might finally take you seriously. I’m going to go out on a limb and say you have no clue what every team has offered or what was said or what any decision came down to. You are imaging what’s happening and running with it correct?

Matt was solid gold on all the trash going on at UL. If you can find it listen to his interview with Katrina Powell. My wife was in the car when that came on she wouldn’t get out of the car until it went off. She won’t listen to a game with me but wouldn’t turn it off!!

I could have had that prediction without any inside info.
This applies to about 95 percent of the tweets by these fake insiders.

It amuses me how people think the equivalent of a message board post suddenly becomes more credible if it’s put in the form of a tweet. Any bozo off the street can open an X account and do the same thing …so why should we think the tweeters know any more than we do?

Syracuse big Eddie Lampkin is a strong physical player that is an excellent rebounder at around 10 a game. What do you think about him as our big physical big? Also averages almost 12 points a game and an assist or two.
It’s not clear right now if he’ll even be eligible. He’s already played for 5 years, but he’s trying the novel approach of appealing to have his freshman season that already didn’t count against his eligibility because of COVID also counted as a medical redshirt because he didn’t play all of it before the season was shut down.

Even if he’s eligible, he’s slow and doesn’t contribute much on defense besides the decent rebounding numbers. His history of off court drama is also a red flag. A couple of years ago, he basically quit on TCU at the end of the season, then hit the portal while his mom publicly made allegations of abusive/racist behavior against Jamie Dixon that were ultimately corroborated by no one. Hard pass from me.

Pope had a zoom call with Alvaro today. This guy is even better than I thought. He has a 7-6 wingpan and his nickname is the 'Octopus.'
Said if you put a big on him he is quick enough to drive by him. One of the very best rebounders last year and cleans up defensively. Excellent passer and has a quick release on his 3 shot. Hit around 67% around the rim. Can stretch the floor and drive it effectively for nice inside moves to get his shot off.

Looks like a star player with what all he can do and his efficiency. Imagine his defense is good also with a wingspan like that.

Watching film on him made me REALLY want Coach Pope to sign him before anyone else had the opportunity.

Also, it was disheartening when Mgbako got a campus visit because I wanted this dude WAAAY MORE than him!!

Hope our staff can seal the deal with him. He would flourish in Coach Pope’s system on BOTH ends of the floor.

Back In "the day" Maggard had a lot of followers, and for a time was a fairly solid info source. I thought he had someone in the staff giving him Intel, but that pretty much dried up. I'd say he is in that great mix of guys that 'have a feeling' these days.

I took stats from a KSR story and compared them to Carr’s stats his last year at Wake (parenthetical):

13.8 (13.5 Carr) points, 8.9 (6.8) rebounds, 3.1 (1.7) assists, 1.3 (2.6) steals, and 1.1 (1.5) blocks in 29.1 (32.5) minutes per contest. Appearing in all 34 games played, Folgueiras shot 54.5 (52.6) percent from the field, 41.5 (37.1) percent from deep (3.1 attempts per outing) (2.8 for Carr), and 78.3 (78.1) percent from the free throw line.

Kind of hard to get a campus visit if the player is in Spain. Does UK have a campus in Spain ?

Did he have the talent around him Carr had at UK ? Did he suffer a back injury last year ? I like the kid, but not going to shit on a former player who played hurt and gave everything he had. GTFO here with that bush league junk. Uninjured Carr playing in the Horizon at Robert Morris, what would his stats be ?

Hey, hey, stop that. Your post contradicts with some who say we won't be any better next year.

why would maggard continue to act like an insider, he has proven he knows nothing over the years
I’m not a Maggard defender but his tweet clearly says he only has limited behinds the scenes knowledge. I get it the hate is real but the dude clearly said he was guessing with no real intel.
