All this whining and crying ain’t gonna fix it

Ok it’s been a few days. Let’s get over the butthurt of losing to Louisville and use it to motivate the fix. Crying about it isn’t going to fix the problem. We need to get everybody on the same page working towards the ultimate goal. If we lose 50 players then so be it. Let’s get some mean ass animals in here that want to work. Get rid of the boys. Gotta use NIL to find some character guys and hopefully have some leaders emerge. The next time we see another idiot at the concession stand we all need to walk over and rip his ass.

Unfortunately, a lot people on this board have the maturity of a toddler. All they know how to do is cry and invent stupid names for coaches, players, and administrators. It never occurs to them that we would be better off supporting the administrators, coaches, and players rather than constantly being negative towards them. Not to mention that their opinions will never matter to those making the decisions about what is the best for the program.

This board is toxic. I get the frustration and disappointment of the last few years. I’m ready for a change as well. But this place is just the same 3-4 posters regurgitating the same shit every day. Stoops is here next season. It is what it is. He’ll either turn it around (unlikely but who knows) or he’ll fail and be gone.

Look, I’m rooting for Kentucky to win every game no matter who the coach is. But it’s hard to see anything other than a disaster looming for next season unless they reload with players and change the offensive system. We are not going to get the OL to run the style we are attempting. The guys who can pass block like that in the SEC are maybe the most coveted thing in football.

I have been following UK football since 1987. If you cant see the disaster that is on the horizon next season if we retain Stoops then I do not know what to tell you

We go 1 and 7 in the new sec and you're okay with it

He won't be gone if he fails. That's why the fans are whining and crying. Program is held hostage because of the buyout if he fails, which you just stated was likely. It will get really ugly next year of that happens.

If he goes 4-8 (1-7) next year, I guarantee he will be gone.

I have been following UK football since around 1970. Learning how to comprehend what read would benefit you greatly. I didn't say that retaining Stoops would be good or bad for the program. I said the people who makes those decisions, don't, and shouldn't, care what you think. You are not a decision maker. The program will be better if we support whoever is in charge instead acting like adolescents'.

What is best for the program?
I don't know and never said I do. Neither do you. Hiring a new coach is a crap shoot. It could be an improvement or it could be set back. I don't pretend to know whether we could get someone who would out perform Stoops. The point is your opinion is just that. It's not fact or proven to be the best for the program. The program will be better if we all support the leadership. You accomplish nothing by demeaning the program on social media except making it harder for the leadership to succeed.

A rose by any other name is a rose. A turd just like a rose I can smell it. Your logic makes no sense if all you have is support the decision makers. They are the same fools that think if we win 7 games all is OK with this program. Every year we keep a turd it eventually quits smellis but would any other SEC program not want to try for a rose and quit making excuses of why the football program smells ?

If you think Stoops has been a turd for UK football, your judgement is poor and we should all be glad you aren’t the decision maker.

We have a major culture problem in the program. I've played sports and if everyone isn't held accountable, then the rest lay down too. We have some of our big name players making a joke of it and the other coaches are being instructed to lay back and ignore it. Apparently those players would rather be too lazy to up their NFL stock or too immature to get better. Stoops has lost this program. I know NIL makes it more difficult to keep players, but we had players throwing garbage cans at the other team long before NIL. Holding players accountable has never been a strong area for Stoops.

You obviously have no sense of smell or you have held your breath the last 3 years. Stoops has been a smoke and mirrors coach from day one . You must be one of many OCs who was blamed for one of the past seasons. As in most things decision makers are not the fans so that's what we have. However I'm a 4th generation UK grad who's 70+ years old that won't be told that Stoops is the best UK can field. Be safe.

Do you realize the intention of a message board? You keep using the phrase "decision maker" like the fans can't be decision makers with their wallets. Believe you me, we'd be just as terrible as the Razorbacks are this year if it weren't for Cal screwing everything up in an attempt to get his son a job. The primary "decision maker" for UK sat at a table after that man hadn't won anything of note in 5 years and yucked it up like everything was perfect.

Those same decision makers handed out impossible contracts and top ten money to get a 35-40 rated product in football every year. Sometimes a decision maker needs reminding that their decisions are ass, and retaining Stoops after his past several seasons is evident that Mitch is stoked about making another ass decision.

Stoops is looking for a way out but nobody wants him, so he gets to coast next year, get paid 30 something million for failing and "trying to get motivated". What a crock of shit.

What do you think is achieved by posting a “this is how you should feel/react post”

1. People have good rights to be pissed….not only was it a disaster season…but guys were not trying their very best and we saw (and in some instances paid out money for this sham of a season). Coaches as well not doing their best

2. Messages board will not do much to alter the outcome of next seasons teams…so what does it hurt or help….so let people be and debate where you agree/disagree

3. The lone thing fans can do is make this as unwelcome a place for Stoops snd Mitch if they dare try to run this crap back in 2025

UK paying top 10 money to get top 40 results. The list isn't very big of other schools being okay with that. Most of the Top 10 money competing for playoff spots. We are not even close to finishing in the top 25 the overwhelming majority of his years here.

Here comes Barney's flying PR monkeys to tell us we are all just bad fans. Cal saga part 2.

What are you talking about? It's Stoops' job to fix this mess. He created it.

Nice straw man about Stoops but I’ve never said that. Your inventing things to argue against

I’m glad you know what Stoops wants.

I’m glad you know what Stoops wants.

Let's say hypothetically that the rumors (who are allegedly sourced by other coaches on the team) about Stoops looking into other openings aren't true. The fact that he was out the door with both feet last year only to get shunned by the weirdest fan base in the nation and then proceed to have his worst season with likely his best roster (minus qb) says all I need to know about what he wants.

He wants to leave and he wants his money. Since he can't leave, he will just take his money instead.

I'm glad you're more concerned about what Stoops wants than the actual product on the field.

Again, your putting words in my mouth that I never said. I am concerned about the product on the field, I just don't get caught up in chat site gossip the way many on here do. If you buy into a lot of what's "reported" on this site and use that to create a narrative about people that you believe is factual, I would argue that you probably have a lot of misconceptions about people.

Absolutely it is. But grown men sitting around on a message board crying about it doesn’t help the problem. These guys know they have 1 year to turn it around or they’re all gone. Let’s see how things play out. We’ve been a lot lower than this before.

Stoops was gone a year ago. That isn't a misconception, he commented on it himself. He had a shit year and now there's rumors he's looking for an out. Again, that doesn't matter but it is telling.

Simply put, I'm more inclined to believe the initial narrative on Stoops that we wildly benefitted from an awful SEC east when making his run and avoiding most of the big boys in the SEC west along the way.

Maybe he hates the portal and NIL. Maybe he's made bad hires. Maybe hes just been hit with too much recently. Either way, he's getting paid 9 million to be successful and he has a sub 500 career record now.

Time to pony up and walk away IMO.

Stop complaining about people posting to a message board. If you don't like waves, get out of the boat.

And who says Mitch will do anything after next year if we go 3-9? Suddenly we can tolerate paying 35 million to make Stoops walk but 44 was too much? Why even risk it at that point?

You created a thread to whine about people whining about Stoops. Makes sense.

This board is weird anyways. It's a bunch of threads about the same topic.

I responded to a thread about general college football today and it has disappeared. Heaven forbid we have some variety and talk about the playoff or college football as a whole on here.

Some people say Stoops turned down that job, some say he took it. His comments are that he turned it down. So again, you are buying into the narrative you like. None of us really know what happened.

Since you're into believing narratives, what do you think about the reports that the donors who fund football NIL at UK were courted by Stoops and without his work we wouldn't have a prayer of being competitive? Also according to reports, not only did Stoops work hard to raise NIL money for the program, many of the NIL donors are now close friends of Stoops and if Stoops leaves a good chunk of NIL will also dry up?

I have said all along that UK is a small market team and they will trouble fielding both a competitive basketball team and football team if NIL equates to pay for play. I won't be at all surprised if football, in particular, returns to mediocrity, unless NIL is regulated in terms of pay for play.

If you don't believe anything will ever be done, why are you complaining? If I thought it doesn't matter what the performance of a coach is, I certainly wouldn't invest my time, money, and energy caring one way or other about the program.

Stoops, the guy who has incessantly complained about NIL and being behind in the SEC, turned down TAMU who saw $20M flow into the school in NIL deals alone and the same school that paid Jimbo $75M to leave? OK, sure.

Do you think NIL will dry up if we keep trotting out a team that is undisciplined, horrific offensively and lead by a coach who has no idea what to do at the end of each half? I suppose they could keep supporting their friend in spite of the awful ROI, but that isn't how they got that kind of money to begin with.

That's great that you think we can't compete in both because I agree, as long as Stoops is the coach here.
