We had guys play last year that had entered the portal. I am certain Casey did .

Stoops said today in his press conference that they wouldn't play in the bowl.

It's going to take a lot more to jump ship to not field a team for the bowl game. Also Stoops has said no surprises from the transfer conversations that he has had and that's a good thing.

Case by case and school by school decision on how they handle portal guys who are leaving.

Hell, Indiana's backup QB Tuttle announced early in the season he'd go portal at season's end and IU continued to let him suit up all year long.

I know at Iowa the guys who have announced for the portal won't be playing in the bowl game.

Its not like they played a lot (if at all) anyway. Just need to prepare yourself for the future of the portal, having 10+ guys enter in a year will not be out of the ordinary. I'm sure we will hear more names soon.

I think with Iowa we are now at 6 or 7 and apparently one more is to hit today or tomorrow for sure.

6 or 7 sounds about right for us as well. 3 WRs (I think), TE, RB, OL, and maybe I missed someone along the way. Contributors, but not anybody that I'm too worried about losing at this point.

Same with Iowa as far as talent lost so far. We did lose one kid who played a lot at the slot but wouldn't call his loss significant. Lost a guy at WR as a true freshman last year flashed some big-time upside but he only played in one game this past year due to injury so not sure how significant that loss is.

But the Iowa board's best insider is now saying the next portal departure for Iowa to be announced will be a significant player. Most are speculating it will be LB Jestin Jacobs and that he'll ultimately go to Oregon. He's a talent but was hurt in Iowa's first or second game of the season and never played the rest of the year. We will see.
