Last night was a debacle. I've heard all about the offense, and rightfully so, but last night the overly touted defense, and the genius Brad White, got their ass handed to them. Time of possession was nearly dead even, so no fatigue bs, but Florida averaged something like eight yards per play. Almost two hundred on the ground and three hundred through the air. 50% on third down and all done with only 59 plays. All of that was accomplished with a freshman quarterback.

If we are firing Hamdan, then I suggest White packs his bags along with him. I've seen enough his soft assed defenses being eviscerated and him getting a pass.

It's even worse than you said; our long snapper can't snap the ball to the holder and we got a penalty for somebody lined up wrong on a punt. You'd think they could actually line up right on punts, as often as UK punts. UK is just not well coached in any facet of the game.

Really tired of YAC for rb’s, we’ll have 3 or 4 around them and they are still going forward. Can’t someone put them on the ground?

We can’t tackle them because we’re too busy celebrating because we almost got them.
If arm tackles and trash talking made for great defense UK would have an All American Defense. You would think as much attention as Walker generates the others could fill gaps and swarm the ball, but I guess White doesn't teach that.

One more thing I'd add; the defense isn't nearly as well coached as some think. I've been a UK football fan since around 1975 and Walker is the most game warping defensive lineman we've had since the great Art Still last wore the jersey in the late 70s(I think). Any defense with Walker and a bunch of 4 star talent at other positions is going to be pretty good no matter the coach but this team leaves too many completely uncovered wide receivers on obvious passing downs for me to consider them well coached.

Their freshman qb really wasn’t all that good. He was 7-14. But all of his big plays hit. They hit because our D was not good. A go route is one of the easiest throws for a qb. We shined him up real nice

When an offense consistently struggles to score sometimes it starts to have a negative effect on the energy and effort of the defense. Dumas-Johnson expressed that frustration after the last game when he sounded off to the media and stated "something has to change".

Not making excuses but I'm not sure I would be blaming Coach White for that. He has a very good track record here as an DC.

It needs to start with leadership on both sides of ball which seems to be non existent, and next in line has been the pitiful leadership in coaching starting from the top! Teams been unmotivated and not prepared for at least 3 games…All of which we lost and 2 of the 3 we got embarrassed!!

I agree with this. The failure of offense can produce a "why am I even trying" affect. White has had some good defenses over the years, it's true. He has also had access to some of the greatest defensive players in UK history in Allen, Paschal, Walker, etc..

Unfortunately, he also has a track record of producing some of the most head scratching failures as well. Last years bowl game vs Clemson come to mind. Getting owned by UT. Allowing a freshman QB to embarrass you is something he has done many times.

There is a reason why no other programs come to hire this guy and it isn't the money.
I do have to wonder how much influence Stoops has on White's game plan though?

It's Stoops' defensive system, the same one we've had no matter who was the DC. White is just the current guy in charge of managing Stoops' defensive system.
