It was the one where Kansas beat Cal's Memphis team in OT. But I don't remember the other 2.All four number one seeds made it into the final four. I believe that has happened before. Does anybody know off of the top of their head when that was and who are the teams were? TIA.
I wondered what it was that got ol Billy took off the team. Nobody could ever tell me. That's crazy it's been 17 yearsToday is also why when you get elite teams in the Final Four-the games more often than not deliver. In '08 they didn't as Memphis just ran through the offensively challenged UCLA team led by Ben Howland who was in the midst of making Final Fours and crapping down his leg on the big stage. Also believe that Tournament was the one that had Adam Morrison crying but could be off a year??
Kansas beating UNC in the '08 Semifinal was classic because Billy Packer said on national TV in the 1st Half "This game is OVER" and it really upset the higher ups at CBS and led to him being put out. Cole Aldrich of MN had a huge game against UNC and really bothered them upfront with his length/shot blocking abilities.
Cal of course pissing the game away late against Kansas is most remembered (as it should be) but that may have been surpassed with Scheyer/Duke tonight. Wow! What a gag job!
Seems like it was 36-12 or so when Billy said that. It went up to 40-12.Today is also why when you get elite teams in the Final Four-the games more often than not deliver.
