Ranking this Jack Nicholson flop [he had one funny line] whilst confining “The Day the Earth Stood Still,” to “honorable mention,” casts doubts upon the list.

And does “Alien,” not fit the criteria?

Nah, I don't consider Alien or Aliens to be invasion movies (they didn't come to Earth -- we went to them, in deep space). Otherwise Aliens would rank second, and Alien third.
