Alabama Trying to Hire UK’s OL Coach

Why didn’t Slick Nick just move one of the 8 head coaches he has as analysts up! I agree with the Big Dawg! We’ll be fine!

Yeah, while I would prefer Wolf stick by Stoops, the type of loyalty shown by Schlarman, White, Sumrall, Morrow and others is rare. Being on the Bama staff under Saban is obviously a flattering position that could really help Wolf’s career. So, while this move is untimely, it is understandable. Crazy season does not end when college football announces its new HCs, we must wait for the second phase which is influenced by the close of the NFL season.

Clearly your OL coach is looking to move up the ladder to OC/HC. CMS has been very fortunate to hire some loyal guys during his time at UK, but with the way coach's salaries have escalated the last few years that gets tougher. But at this point, look at what Saban assistants do after a couple of years, assistants move up to coordinators, coordinators move to head coaching slots of to coordinator spots in the NFL. Having worked under Nick Saban as an assistant or coordinator right now carries a lot of influence to AD's and general managers around the country now.

With all the coaching changes and with the success Wolford was having on the recruiting trail it was inevitable others would come calling. Surprised UK apparently didn't make a counteroffer.

KSR had a blurb on Brent Key former Alabama online coach from 2016-2018. Sounds really good. Wonder if he would be interested.

Old boys in what you call a conundrum. Loyalty or you’re gonna take the offer/$$$
We could wind up with an unexpected upgrade that’s ready to do Boise St. the same way. Nature of the game, but there is something to be said about loyalty. And the Big Dog Vince Marrow is the standard on that, hes a rare Dude but them guys go deep back. We’re luck to have him to pick up the slack on the recruiting trail.
